It is common that sometimes we activate the “autopilot” when it comes to our daily activities, doing everything mechanically, without thinking too much. As children, we learn to perform simple tasks by copying adult behavior. In that case, there’s only one problem: there’s no way to know if the person is doing that thing correctly.
O awesome.club decided to help you “relearn” some everyday activities that many of us do wrong every day.
10. How to hold the steering wheel
It is very important to know the correct way to hold the steering wheel, as it can prevent serious injuries in a car accident. The safest place to place your hands is on the center line (as in the image above), gripping the steering wheel as if your hands correspond to the hands of a clock, at 10:10 or 9:15. This ensures freedom of movement and prevents the airbags from deploying in your arms, completely protecting your head and body.
9. Correct position of the toilet lid
We should always flush with the toilet lid down if we don’t want germs to spread throughout the bathroom and the environment (towels, toothbrush, etc.). Every time the toilet is flushed, the circulating water is mixed with small particles of faeces and dirt and is dispersed into the air.
8. Best time to apply deodorant
The least recommended time to apply antiperspirant is in the morning, immediately after showering, as the deodorant passes through the sweat ducts and clogs them. Therefore, as perspiration levels are normally higher at the beginning of the day, the body will absorb what passes through.
The best solution is to apply it before going to bed, when your skin is at its driest and your sweat glands aren’t as active as they were earlier in the day. Deodorant generally lasts for 24 hours, which means your pores will stay closed even after you shower in the morning.
7. Organized drawers
Rolling up your clothes in the drawer is the best way to optimize space. Also, it prevents them from getting wrinkled and it will be easier to look for that specific item you want to use.
6. Coughing
Most of us have been taught to put our hands over our mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing, but this is the wrong way to go. Viruses spread easily through touch: right after using your hands to cover your cough or sneeze, you open doors, touch credit cards, money, say hello to someone or hold a handrail.
In this case, we must use the inside of the elbow or else the sleeve to minimize the spread of germs.
5. Clean the blender
Don’t waste time scrubbing your blender, it can be cleaned in a few seconds. Just add water, detergent and put it to work. Done!
4. Correct sleeping position
3. Keyboard “little feet”
When we learn to type with the keyboard, it is normal to be advised to use those little supports at the bottom of the keyboard so that we can see the keys better. However, once you’ve learned how to use it, you can stop using these “little feet”, as this position of the keyboard can cause pain in the wrists.
2. Hang pants
When we’re running late for work, the last thing we need is to have a hanger mark or wrinkle marks on our pants. To solve this is easy: just cut the roll of a paper towel, wrap it around the hanger and secure it with duct tape. One less problem to deal with on difficult mornings.
1. Laces
Thread the laces through the top holes (as shown in the picture) to create something that looks like a bunny ear. Cross them and pull. This will prevent them from untying themselves easily.
