The Taiwanese artist and his short stories with unexpected endings

“Exciting, with something terrifying and charming”, those were the words that the young writer and artist Edd Lai used to describe his work and the comics he has been publishing for half a year. His stories hold readers with a different narrative and with drawings that mix terror, humor and one main ingredient: a surprising ending. Writing is currently Edd’s way of making a living. He has written a few books and screenplays, all published in Taiwan, as well as 3 series of comics for a Korean company.

In an exclusive interview for the awesome.club, Edd Lai commented that his main source of inspiration is the complexity of the human being. His job is to explore different facets of people and discuss how each of us’s point of view is based on what we think is right and how we ignore other possibilities. Today, we bring you a selection of 11 comics so you can get to know the work of this young artist and his very peculiar way of seeing the world

Currently, the comics are originally published in Taiwanese and English and are translated into many languages, much to Edd Lai’s pride and joy: “I have always strived to entertain people of different cultures. Thank you so much to everyone who reads my stories.”
