We buy a lot of glass jars and often want to reuse them as containers, or beautify the house with creative recycling.
In addition to washing them well, we have to remove the label stuck on the glass. It may seem like a trivial thing, but in the end we realize that it is not easy to eliminate it. It takes time and most of the time, the glue residue cannot be removed completely.
There are some simple tricks you can do to remove labels from glass jars quickly and effectively using natural methods.
Baking soda and oil
Remove the label and leave the bottle dry. Mix two equal parts baking soda and any cooking oil. Pour the resulting solution onto absorbent kitchen paper, and rub over the remains of glue and paper. Wait about twenty minutes, the time needed for the oil to penetrate and melt the glue and paper.
hot water and vinegar
Fill a bowl or sink with hot water and pour in some soap and vinegar. Immerse the glass jar for about ten minutes and then remove the label with an abrasive sponge.
Hair dryer
Use it at a very close distance, that is, about two or three centimeters. Make circular movements with the hair dryer and remove the adhesive little by little. Proceed in this way until the adhesive has completely peeled off.
Additionally, any glue residue can be removed with alcohol. Spray on the glue, let it sit for a few minutes and rub with absorbent paper.
