Study claims relationships that start on Tinder can last forever

These days, more than ⅓ of marriages in the United States start on Tinder. Although many people still have some prejudices regarding virtuality in relationships, recent research shows that couples who meet online generally have a more solid love life.

O awesome.club summarized the research studying these issues to show that we don’t have to be afraid to start a relationship on the Internet.

Conventional ways of finding a partner can mean less time together

The world of flirting has changed a lot and exchanging glances has given way to many other forms of conquest. Since the rise of dating sites like Match.com, the way people find suitors and start relationships has become easier, faster, and amazingly more stable.

A study carried out by economists Philipp Hergovich, from the University of Vienna, and Josué Ortega, from the Center for European Economic Research, showed that couples who met on dating sites and apps are more likely to work out than people who started the relationship traditional way, such as in a bar or restaurant.

The virtual world allows us to meet people who look different from us

In addition to more stability in relationships, studies show that the Internet has brought more diversity to relationships. Data shows that after the emergence of dating sites, the number of interracial marriages increased. People began to prioritize common interests. In this sense, the Internet has helped people connect with more varied profiles, thus promoting diversity.

This isn’t the first time scientists have come to these conclusions.

Nowadays, people use the virtual world to start a true love story
