Simmer Pot recipes to fill your home with magic

We’ve all seen the image of witches standing around a bubbling cauldron and chanting while conjuring up a brew. While most witches would not do this to the same extent in real life, there are some spells that can be cast through a bubbling cauldron. Simmerpots are one such magic. Many people use simmer pots to keep their homes smelling nice without artificial fragrances, but witches can take it a step further and choose ingredients wisely. You can use a simmer pot to infuse the energy of your home with any intent you desire.

Why simmer pots are magic

Not only are simmer pots a great way to bring herbal magic and green witchcraft into your everyday life, but simmer pots contain all four elements making this elemental magic. First you fill your pot with water, then use plants from the ground, heat the mixture with fire and the steam rises into the air.

Certain aromas can stimulate our olfactory system, triggering memories of a specific place or event and the emotion evoked by that experience. You can use this to your advantage in casting spells, using a cooking pot to set the stage for a specific spell or ritual, using the scent to get you in the right state of mind.

Choose your water

As the basis of our magic, the water you use is as important in setting the energy as the plants you choose. What evaporates into the air is water, making it the vehicle under your spell. Therefore, finding the right type of water for your purpose is crucial.

rainwater – You can easily collect this by placing a large bowl outside in a rain shower! This is a kind of all-purpose magic water that is great for cleaning, protecting, and waxing, especially when used in spells that you want to make stronger over time.

rainwater – Water from a heavy thunderstorm has a much stronger force than water from a light downpour, and the strength varies depending on the strength of the storm, so use your intuition with this one. It can be used to enhance any spell.

Craft your simmer pot

You can use fresh or dried depending on what you have on hand. Let your water simmer until there is little water left at the bottom of the pot.
