Which saint protects pregnant women?

Saint Gerardo Majella (1726-1755) is celebrated on October 16th. The Italian was canonized in 1904 and is considered the patron saint of pregnant women and happy births.

One of the stories that is told is that a young woman with pregnancy complications remembered a scarf she had received from her brother Geraldo. She placed the cloth over her belly, prayed with great faith and then the problems disappeared until she was able to give birth to a healthy child.

Another story is that of a mother who had a serious illness when her children were young. She would have gone to the convent and asked Geraldo to pray for her, so that she wouldn’t die and leave the children orphans. In a short time, she was cured.

4th day: “God our Father, we learned from Saint Gerard to love the Eucharist. She teaches us to love Christ in our brothers and sisters. 6th day: “Lord God and Father, Saint Gerard teaches us that to be a missionary it is necessary to go on a mission, but the most important thing is to live the Gospel and bear witness to Christ. He teaches us that allowing oneself to be transformed by Christ is the first requirement to be a good missionary, because in this way the missionary will announce what he himself has experienced. Through the intercession of Saint Gerard, we ask you: help us to rediscover the foundation of our missionary vocation, which is our inner adherence to Christ and his Kingdom. Amen!”

7th day: “O God, from your servant Saint Gerard let us learn love without measure, capable of forgiving even our enemies. May we be instruments of peace, love, fraternity. May we live well with everyone, without ever letting ourselves be carried away by feelings of revenge against our neighbors.
