A Psalm of Wisdom – The Two Paths

“Happy is the man who does not act in the counsel of the wicked,
do not tread the path of sinners,
nor does he sit among scoffers.
Happy is he who delights in the service of the Lord and meditates on his law
day and night.
He is like a tree planted on the bank of running waters:
bears fruit in its season, its foliage will never wither.
Everything that undertakes, prospers.
The wicked are not like that! But they are like straw that the wind takes away.
Therefore they will not bear the judgment, nor will their sins remain
in the assembly of the righteous.
For the Lord watches over the way of the righteous, while the way of the wicked
leads to perdition.”

Psalm of Wisdom – The Happiness of Forgiveness

“Happy is he whose iniquity is forgiven, whose sin is forgiven.
Happy is the man to whom the Lord does not find fault, and in whose heart there is no guile.
While I remained silent, my bones withered, between continuous groans.
For day and night your hand was heavy on me;
my strength was exhausted as in the heat of summer.
Then I confessed my sin to you, and I no longer concealed my guilt.
Said, “Yes, I will confess my iniquity to the Lord.”
And You forgave the penalty of my sin.
In the same way, every believer will turn to you in time of need.
When many waters overflow, they will not reach him.
You are my refuge, from anguish you will preserve me and you will envelop me in joy.

“I will teach you,” you say, “I will show you the way you should go;
I will instruct you, looking at you with my eyes:
