5. You will not be afraid of terror by night nor of the arrow that flies by day.

7. A thousand will fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not reach you.
8. Only with your eyes will you look and see the reward of the wicked.
9. Because you, O Lord, are my refuge. You have made your home in the Most High.
10. No harm will come to you, nor will any plague come to your tent.
11. For he will command his angels concerning you, to guard you in all your ways.
12. They will bear you up in their hands, lest you dash your foot against a stone.
13. You will tread on the lion and the snake; You will trample the son of the lion and the serpent under your feet.
14. Because he loved me so dearly, I also will deliver him; I will put him in high retreat, because he has known my name.
15. He will call on me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will take him out of it, and I will glorify him.
16. I will satisfy him with long days, and I will show him my salvation.

Liberation Psalm 142

1. With my voice I cried out to the LORD; I begged the LORD with my voice.
2. I poured out my complaint before his face; I explained my anguish to him.
3. When my spirit was troubled within me, then you knew my path. On the path I was walking, they hid a noose from me.
4. I looked to my right, and saw; but there was no one who knew me. Refuge I lacked; no one took care of my soul.
5. To you, O Lord, I cried; I said: You are my refuge, and my portion in the land of the living.
6. Heed my cry; because I’m very depressed. Deliver me from my persecutors; because they are stronger than me.
7. Bring my soul out of prison, that I may praise your name; the righteous will surround me, for you have done me good.

Liberation Psalm 41

1. Blessed is he who serves the poor; the LORD will deliver him in the day of evil.
2. The Lord will deliver him, and keep him alive; he will be blessed on earth, and you will not hand him over to the will of his enemies.
3. The Lord will sustain him on his bed of illness; you will restore him from his sick bed.
4. I said: Lord, have mercy on me; heal my soul, because I have sinned against you.
5. My enemies speak evil of me, saying, When shall he die, and his name perish?
6. And if any of them come to see me, they speak empty things; in his heart he heaps evil; going outside, that’s what it talks about.
7. All who hate me murmur against me together; against me they imagine evil, saying:
8. A bad disease has clung to him; and now that he is lying down, he will never get up again.
9. Even my own intimate friend, in whom I trusted so much, who ate my bread, lifted up his heel against me.
10. But you, Lord, have mercy on me, and raise me up, so that I can pay them back.
11. By this I know that you favor me: that my enemy does not triumph over me.
12. As for me, you upheld me in my sincerity, and set me before your face forever.
13. Blessed be the Lord God of Israel from age to age. Amen and Amen.

Liberation Psalm 7

1. Lord my God, in you I trust; save me from all who persecute me, and deliver me;
2. Lest he snatch my soul like a lion, tearing it to pieces, and there is no one to deliver it.
3. Lord my God, if I have done this, if there is wickedness in my hands,
4. If I paid evil to him who was at peace with me (rather, I delivered him who oppressed me without cause),
5. May the enemy pursue my soul and overtake it; trample my life underfoot on the earth, and reduce my glory to dust. (Saddle.)
6. Arise, O Lord, in your wrath; be exalted because of the wrath of my oppressors; and awaken for me to the judgment you have commanded.
7. So the gathering of people will surround you; For their sakes, therefore, turn to the heights.
8. The Lord will judge the people; Judge me, Lord, according to my righteousness, and according to the integrity that is in me.
9. Let the wickedness of the wicked come to an end; but let the righteous be established; for you, O righteous God, test the hearts and the kidneys.
10. My shield is from God, who saves the upright in heart.
11. God is a just judge, a God who is angry every day.
12. If man does not convert, God will sharpen his sword; he has already drawn his bow, and is equipped.
13. And he prepared deadly weapons for him; and he will bring his fiery arrows into action against the persecutors.
14. Behold, he is in pain of wickedness; he devised works, and produced lies.
15. He dug a well and made it deep, and fell into the pit he made.
16. His work will fall on his head; and his violence will come upon his own head.
17. I will praise the Lord according to his righteousness, and I will sing praises to the name of the Most High Lord.
