Prayer to Saint Mary Magdalene for forgiveness

“Holy Mary Magdalene, you who heard these words from the mouth of Jesus: ‘Much was forgiven him because he loved much… go in peace, your sins are forgiven’, obtain for me from God the forgiveness of my mistakes and sins, let me participate in the ardent love that inflamed your heart, so that I may be able to follow Christ to Calvary, if necessary, and thus, sooner or later, have the happiness of embracing and kissing the feet of the divine Master.

As the resurrected Jesus called you by name: ‘Mary!’, may he also call by my name, and may I never again stray from his love by relapsing into the mistakes of my past.

Holy Mary Magdalene, I ask you for this grace, through Christ Our Lord.”

Luke 8 Mary Magdalene

1. And it came to pass after this, that he went from city to city, and from village to village, preaching and preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God; and the twelve went with him,
2. And some women who had been healed of evil spirits and illnesses: Mary, called Magdalene, from whom seven demons came out;
3. And Joanna, the wife of Chuza, Herod’s attorney, and Susanna, and many others who served him with their goods.
4. And when a great multitude gathered together, and came to him from all the cities, he said in a parable:
5. A sower went out to sow his seed, and as he sowed, some fell along the path and was trampled underfoot, and the birds of the air ate it up;
6. And another fell on a stone, and when it grew, it dried up, for it had no moisture;
7. And another fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up with her and choked her;
8. And another fell on good ground, and when it sprang up, it brought forth fruit a hundredfold. As he said these things, she cried out: He who has ears to hear, let him hear.
9. And his disciples questioned him, saying, What is this parable?
10. And he said: To you it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God, but to others in parables, so that seeing they may not see, and hearing they may not understand.
11. This then is the parable: The seed is the word of God;
12. And those who are by the way, these are the ones who hear; then the devil comes and takes the word out of their hearts, so that they cannot be saved by believing;
13. And those who stand on stone, these are they who, when they hear the word, receive it with joy, but because they have no root, they only believe for a time, and in the time of temptation they turn away;
14. And she that fell among thorns, these are the ones that heard, and going on, are choked with the cares and riches and pleasures of life, and do not bear fruit perfectly;
15. And that which fell on good ground, these are they who, when they hear the word, keep it in an honest and good heart, and bear fruit with perseverance.
16. And no one, after lighting a lamp, covers it with a vessel, or puts it under the bed; but he puts it on the candlestick, so that those who enter may see the light.
17. For there is nothing hidden that will not be revealed, nor hidden that will not be known and come to light.
18. See therefore how you hear; for to everyone who has will be given, and from everyone who does not have even what they seem to have will be taken away.
19. And his mother and his brothers came to him, and they could not come near him because of the crowd.
20. And it was said to him: Your mother and your brothers are outside, who want to see you.
21. But he answered and said unto them, My mother and my brethren are they that hear the word of God, and do it.
22. And it came to pass, one of those days, that he went into a boat with his disciples, and said unto them, Let us pass over to the other side of the lake. And they left.
23. And as they sailed, he fell asleep; and a storm of wind came upon the lake, and they were filled with water, and were in danger.
24. And when they came to him, they awoke him, saying, Master, Master, we perish. And he stood up and rebuked the wind and the raging water; and they ceased, and there was peace.
25. And he said unto them, Where is your faith? And they feared, and marveled, saying one to another, Who is this, that he commandeth even the winds and the water, and they obey him?
26. And they sailed to the land of the Gadarenes, which is opposite Galilee.
27. And when he went down to the land, there met him, coming from the city, a man who had been possessed of demons for a long time, and was not clothed, nor lived in any house, but in the tombs.
28. And when he saw Jesus, he fell down before him, exclaiming, and saying with a loud voice, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I ask you not to torment me.
29. Because he had commanded the unclean spirit to come out of the man; for it had been a long time since it had taken him away. And they kept him bound, with fetters and chains; but, breaking the prisons, he was driven by the devil into the deserts.
30. And Jesus asked him, saying: What is your name? And he said: Legion; because many demons had entered into him.
31. And they begged him not to send them into the abyss.
32. And a herd of many swine was feeding there on the mountain; and they begged him to grant them entry into them; and he granted it to him.
33. And when the demons had gone out of the man, they entered into the swine, and the herd rushed down the steep bank into the lake, and were drowned.
34. And those who guarded them, when they saw what had happened, fled, and went and announced it in the city and in the fields.
35. And they went out to see what had happened, and came to Jesus. Then they found the man, from whom the demons had come out, clothed, and in his senses, sitting at the feet of Jesus; and they were afraid.
36. And those who had seen also told them how the demon-possessed man had been saved.
37. And all the multitude of the land of the Gadarenes round about besought him to depart from them; because they were filled with great fear. And when he got into the boat, he returned.
38. And that man, from whom the demons had gone out, begged him to let him be with him; but Jesus sent him away, saying:
39. Return to your home and tell how great things God has done for you. And he went proclaiming throughout the city how great things Jesus had done for him.
40. And it came to pass, when Jesus returned, that the multitude received him, because they were all waiting for him.
41. And behold, there came a man named Jairus, who was ruler of the synagogue; and, prostrating himself at the feet of Jesus, he begged him to enter his house;
42. Because he had an only daughter, almost twelve years old, who was dying. And as he went, the crowd pressed him.
43. And a woman, who had an issue of blood for twelve years, and had spent all her substance on doctors, and was not able to be cured by anyone,
44. Coming up behind him, he touched the hem of his dress, and immediately stopped the flow of his blood.
45. And Jesus said, Who touched me? And when they all denied it, Peter and those who were with him said, Master, the crowd presses on you and oppresses you, and you say, Who touched me?
46. And Jesus said: Someone touched me, because I knew that virtue had gone out of me.
47. When the woman saw that she could not hide herself, she approached him trembling, and prostrating herself before him, she told him before all the people why she had touched him, and how she was soon healed.
48. And he said to her: Be of good cheer, daughter, your faith has saved you; go in peace.
49. While he was still speaking, one of the princes of the synagogue arrived, saying: Your daughter is already dead, do not trouble the Master.
50. But when Jesus heard him, he answered him, saying, Fear not; Only believe, and you will be saved.
51. And when he entered the house, he did not let anyone in except Peter, and James, and John, and the girl’s father and mother.
52. And they all wept and mourned her; and he said, Weep not; She is not dead, but she sleeps.
53. And they laughed at him, knowing that he was dead.
54. But he, putting them all away, and taking her by the hand, cried out, saying: Get up, girl.
55. And her spirit returned, and she arose immediately; and Jesus ordered them to give him something to eat.
56. And his parents were amazed; and he ordered them not to tell anyone what had happened.
