Blake Ricker, a nurse from New York, was riding the subway when he noticed a lovely elderly couple in front of him. They were sitting, leaning into each other, looking really in love. Blake couldn’t resist the urge to take a photo, posting it on social networks, so people would help him find the couple so he could give them the photo. As expected, the post went viral instantly!
O awesome.club presents the story of that photograph that became, for many, the proof that love can be eternal.
Blake was on his way to meet his friends and the loving couple was traveling in the same carriage. Later, looking at the photos on his smartphone, he realized that he couldn’t stop looking at that heartbreaking image. In an interview with CBS News, he said: “The more I looked, the more it became clear how much they were in love.”
He thought he could make the couple happy by giving them the photo and posted it on twitter🇧🇷 The publication won 21 thousand likes and has been shared 8,000 times. People wanted to help Blake find this couple and even learn more about the lovers’ history, if Blake could track them down.
At first, there was no information about the couple and Blake thought he would fail in his search. But 8 days later, a girl named Karen responded. She was the daughter of the elderly and said that they have been together for 64 years and, yes, the love seen in the image is very real: “The image portrays their relationship very accurately”.
Karen also expressed that she feels very concerned that the elderly couple still use the subway, even though the family has asked them not to do so anymore. But the seniors looked in good spirits and healthy! Karen wrote that they are humble people and do not want to become known, so they would not have more details about their parents’ lives: “May this photo become a story that the public can complete alone”.
This photo moved thousands of users and became a true symbol of love. Many left stories of their lives and their families in the comments and even sent photos to illustrate these cases. And you, do you have acquaintances that remind you of this couple?
