The story of Pachamama: Love and confrontation

As a female goddess, Pachamama was courted by the entire pantheon.

His sensitivity and softness caught everyone’s attention. And it was then that the evil god Wacom (known for being the god who devoured children) tried to seduce her, but she rejected him, as she was in love with the god Pachacamac.

pachacamac, was Wacom’s brother and god of buildings. A born creator who had made the heavens and was respected and adored by the entire pantheon. A typical benign god, where courage and heroism caught Pachamama’s attention.

But this marriage was short-lived…for Wacom’s eyes were on this union, and a confrontation with Pachacamac was at hand.

Wacom and Pachacamac were brothers, which in itself, already generated a certain rivalry, but with the choice of Pachamama by Pachacamac, Wacom became enraged. And from there he was ready to end his brother’s union with mother earth.

The beginning of intrigues for the goddess

The confrontation between the brothers was so intense that the world felt the impact!

Yet the land had changed, lands moved, lakes dried up, the sky opened. All these earthly effects were due to a violent combat between the two brothers and all Pachamama could do was observe.

When he was about to lose, Pachacamac dealt a mortal blow to Wacom, who fell defeated and condemned to the misery of the world, where he had to abandon Hanan pacha (the realm of the gods) and go to isolate himself in the darkness of a lonely cave.

Condemned to roam the world and hide in darkness, Wacom decided to take revenge on his brother, and set about slashing the land, turning the fertile fields into sandy deserts and drying up the waters.

Certainly Pachamama felt these effects on earth, and began to suffer from infertility. Which made Pachacamac face his brother again.

It was then at the top of the mountain range of the Andes, that a new combat was fought and once again Wacom was defeated.

However, Pachacamac and Pachamama stayed together again and had two children: Inti and Quilla, but this family was not happy and united for a long time, because in an accident

Pachacamac fell into an abyss and drowned. Leaving Pachamama alone to wander the world with her two children.

Pachamama then wandered the land without sun, in darkness and without his love. When she saw a distant light coming from a cave, she ran there as she was being chased by demons.

And when he arrived, he realized that there was a man inside, who welcomed them while he prepared something to eat. However, he asked the children to fetch water, in a place that was far from the cave.

It was a trap!

When the kids were far away, the unknown revealed itself, it was Wacom. Who again tries to seduce Pachamama, but she doesn’t respond.

Enraged, Wacom charges at her and ruthlessly kills her. After the murder, he quarters her and devours her flesh.

Her children managed to escape Wacom, but they never saw their mother again…who had watched them with Pachacamac from the sky.
