Learn to cultivate enthusiasm

Juan Rulfo asked himself: “The illusion? That costs dearly. It was hard for me to live longer than I should have”. Having and cultivating enthusiasm is one of the engines of our existence. AND illusion is closely linked to the senses. Is that ability that we as people possess to gather all our forces and concentrate them in favor of achieving an objective.

Illusion is a word that comes from Latin illusions and it means deception. Because that’s what illusion is like, it’s that gift that human beings have to believe in those things that we don’t see, but that help us live.

Why is it so important to have enthusiasm?

Illusion is connected to positive emotions. When we get excited we feel good, we feel full and motivated. Our view changes. Our emotional state too. We feel excited and charged with energy. It is a feeling that gives us strength.

Since we were children we resort to illusions to build our life project, to design our dreams and set our goals. We live with it because it is the force that pushes us to achieve our goals. Illusion is our travel companion. With it we think about where we would like to go, what we would like to be or who we would like to have by our side. Illusion helps us make our dreams come true.

Let’s renew our dreams

Enthusiasm serves to not give up, to fill us with encouragement and push us to achieve our long-term goals. However, As the years go by, it seems as if the reservoir of our dreams is running out.

This sensation is associated with experience. Things do not excite us the same when we do them for the first time as when we repeat them many times. That’s why Not only do you have to have dreams, but you have to renew them. so they don’t run out.

The problem of illusions comes when we do not know how to settle, That is, when we build our goal on expectations on which our happiness or self-esteem directly depend and which, if we do not achieve them, make us feel bad. That is why we must motivate ourselves, get excited without taking our feet off the ground too much.

The illusion connects with the most positive feelings of the human being and is contagious. We turn to it to feel better, to achieve something that makes us happy.

Eduardo Punset argues that “in the hypothalamus of the brain is what scientists call the search circuit. This circuit, which alerts the springs of pleasure and happiness, is only turned on during the search and not during the act itself. In the search, in the expectation, lies most of happiness”.

How to cultivate illusion

Having hope fuels our feeling of happiness, but that is something we must cultivate. Can? The answer is yes, the illusion can be cultivated. But, like everything, you have to work at it. It is important to organize our lives and set some priorities, maybe at first just some goals to achieve in the short term. By achieving small achievements, big steps will be taken to recover the hope.

Searching for new activities that you like, getting excited about all the good things that life gives, learning from each new experience and reminding yourself that each day is one less day to get what you want will also help to strengthen that illusion. The important thing is to add moments to have enthusiasm againthat illusion that will help us continue moving forward.
