Angels are spiritual beings with an incredibly high and light vibration who serve according to divine will. The angels are the pure energy of love and light, and thus, although they are always close to us, their energy is so light and fine that from the

density of the physical realm that it is easy to miss its presence or miss it entirely. So they send signals to let us know they are near and offer us their love, guidance, and support.

In this post, I’m going to look at what may well be the last angelic sign, which is finding feathers. I always find feathers on my way. I love looking at them, and when I do I just thank the angels for their presence and use the feather as a reminder to be present in the moment, tuned in with gratitude, and mindful of the angels around me.

Have you heard the quote “When the angels are near the feathers appear”? It is really true.

Although angels do not need wings to fly, the wings represent their ability to quickly carry out divine will. Angels are also well aware that they are believed to have wings, and have been depicted with wings in paintings, stories, and sculpture for thousands of years. Because of this, when they show up, they often do so with wings for us to recognize. And since most people are not regularly in a high enough vibration to see angels (yet), angels love to leave feathers, as a token and sign that they are near.

In addition to representing the actual feathers from angels’ wings, the spiritual symbolic meaning of feathers can be seen in many different cultures, each referring to spiritual communication and ascension to the higher realms.

The Egyptians believed that feathers were a symbol of Ma’at, the goddess of truth, justice, and order.

Native American chiefs wore feathers in their headdresses to represent their communication with the spirit world, and they believed that finding feathers was a sign of new beginnings and spirit rebirth.

Celtic druids wore ornate feathered robes to transcend the physical plane and gain heavenly knowledge from the spirit realms. In the Bible, feathers metaphorically represent loving care and protection and as a common dream symbol, feathers signify the ability to move freely throughout life.

So, what is the meaning of a feather?

Feathers represent a new beginning in a spiritual sense, as well as truth, speed, love, lightness, and flight.

Feathers clearly have a strong connection to the spiritual realms. So what’s the problem with finding a white feather in your path?

First of all, white feathers are the best known and recognized angel feather. The white feathers bring the simple reminder that your angels are with you loving and supporting you from the Spirit.

There is quite a bit of information about white feathers, but in reality angels use feathers of all shapes, colors, and sizes to get your attention. The good thing about finding feathers is that the angels will line them up in your path at just the right time to offer validation, comfort, or a clue as to the answer to a question you’ve asked, or to encourage you to be on the right track.

For me, feathers are a beautiful reminder to pay attention. When you find a feather and increase your awareness, it is usually quite easy to tune into the knowledge of what it means. You may find it fine when you are thinking about making a change, worrying about something, or you may just associate the feather with something when you find it.

Feathers can also be a simple reminder that your angels are near, and they want you to know and ask for their help. Angels are always around, but as I mentioned before, they are easy to miss, and they deeply honor your free will and will not interfere unless asked. So ask for help when you need it! There is no request too big or too small, and help cannot be asked too often. As long as your request is in line with divine will, and for the greatest and greatest good of all involved, the angels will work behind the scenes to help.

The next time you find a feather, use it as a reminder that your angels are with you. If you can’t find feathers, don’t worry, your angels may prefer another sign… Just pay attention. Do you want to find feathers?

I mentioned earlier that white feathers are the most commonly discussed “angel feather,” which makes sense since white is a common symbol of purity, which is very much in line with the meaning of angels. White feathers can also be a sign from the angels that your loved ones in heaven are doing well, and have successfully crossed over into the spirit realms. White is also a symbol of faith and protection, and when you find white feathers in peculiar places the message is especially significant.

Although white feathers are most recognized as “angel feathers,” angels can wear feathers of any color and size. Just pay attention and increase your awareness of the present moment to tune in to the specific meaning that the angel feather has for you in that moment.

Also, here is a quick look at some of the additional meanings that certain colored feathers may have.

The pink feathers sIt is a reminder of the unconditional love of your angels, and a reminder of the infinite inspiration available when you are attuned to love.

The Red feathers they signify life force energy, physical vitality, stability, strength, passion and courage.

The orange feathers they carry messages of creativity, listening to your inner voice and staying positive to attract success.

The yellow feathers They are often a reminder to be lighthearted and cheerful, to be present, alert, and to stay focused on what you want in order to magnetize these blessings into your life.

The green feathers they signify abundance and money, fertile opportunity, as well as vibrant well-being, health, and love.

The blue feathers they bring a calming and peaceful energy, and are connected to communication, awareness, and are often a reminder to listen.

The gray feathers they are a call to return to inner peace and create it on the outside. Gray is also neutral, and can be a sign that the answer to your question is not yes/no or black/white.

The brown feathers they signify grounding, home life, and stability. There is an energy of respect, grounded positivity, and balance between the physical and the spiritual.

The black feathers they are a reminder of the protection of your angels, and a sign that spiritual wisdom and magic are accessible to you within.

The purple feathers They carry messages of deep spirituality, transmutation of negativity, as well as the opening of the psychic and spiritual sight.

This is, of course, a general look at what finding colored feathers can mean, and the deeper meaning of the angel message present within the feathers can be found by being aware of and looking within.

Don’t worry too much about the specific meaning though, just be open and if there is something specific the angels want you to know it will come up. The good thing about angel messages is that they are repetitive until you “get” them, so if you don’t get them the first time, they will send the message to you in another way.

Feathers with a combination of black and white are often a sign that major changes are soon to take place (or are already taking place) in your life. Trust that you have support and that the changes that are occurring are in line with your highest interest, and are ushering in further healing, spiritual growth, and alignment with your highest truth.

Black and white feathers also signify divine neutrality. Instead of getting caught up in duality and judging things as good or bad, allow what is to just be.

Visually, the black and white feathers remind us of the balance between light and dark and call us to integrate aspects of shadow to become whole and unified beings.

Black and white feathers also represent connection, a sense of togetherness, and bring the reminder that you are loved and supported by the angels as you take steps toward important life changes.

Find feathers on the ground. Should you pick them up?

Someone recently told me that they felt guilty for not picking up the feathers that came their way.

But this is the question…

In no way, shape, or form do you need to pick up a feather to acknowledge the message, guidance, and angelic presence that reminds you.

Finding feathers on yourself is a blessing and a sign that your angels are with you.

Use the moment you find a feather as a reminder to return to the presence yourself, and to thank the angels for their presence and assistance in your life.

Personally I never pick up the many feathers that appear in my path… although I often photograph them!

In some countries it may be illegal to collect feathers from protected birds, if the feather you find is not from a protected bird you can take it home with you.

Many people like to use these special feathers as decoration, in craft projects, or on altars…

But when it comes to getting the most benefit from finding feathers in your path there’s really no need to move them from where they are.
