Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker got married, proving that friendship can be the impetus for love

From Friends to Lovers, and Finally, Husband and Wife: The Story of Kourtney Kardashian, the oldest of the Kardashian clan, and musician Travis Barker is one of those stories that doesn’t start with love, but ultimately ends in “happily ever after” ”. Friends for years, both have had a few marriages and relationships before so they now see each other in a new perspective, a new “light”. And now it looks like they’re letting that light shine.

Travis and Kourtney, long before their current relationship, were introduced by Kim Kardashian 15 years ago and became friends. At that time Travis was dating Paris Hilton, who Kim worked for and with whom he maintained a friendship.

Travis encouraged Kim to start the reality show Keeping Up with the Kardashians, which changed the family’s fortunes forever.

In 2008, Travis separated from his wife, Shanna Moakler, although he was also previously married. Later, in 2015, Kourtney Kardashian also split from Scott Disick, the father of her three children.

Despite the separations for some time before, the first rumors of something forming between them only started in 2018, after they were seen together on more than one occasion. Furthermore, Travis’ daughter Alabama shared a photo of her with Kourtney and daughter Penelope.

Travis Barker also denied dating Kourtney Kardashian in 2019, saying: “Kourtney is like a dear friend. That’s it. I mean: I love her to death. I love her family to death. But yeah, just friends.”

That all changed in 2021, when the couple was made official on Instagram in February 2021. Since then, their fans have been treated to a flurry of photos and declarations of love for each other.

Scott Disick may not be a fan of Travis Barker, but he is reportedly fine with the relationship. Meanwhile, the Kardashian-Jenner clan are fans of Barker, and Kourtney’s kids Mason, Penelope, and Reign have also been spotted hanging out with him.

Barker, in turn, is the father of Alabama and Landon with Shanna Moakler, and is still considered the stepfather of Shanna’s eldest daughter with Oscar De La Hoya, Atiana. Alabama has posted photos of Kourtney Kardashian many times, and her friendship with Penelope has also ensured more closeness between Travis Barker and Kourtney. Alabama also posted an Instagram story wishing her “stepmom,” Kourtney, a happy birthday on her 42nd birthday.

Kourtney and Travis want more children in addition to the six they have between them. On the new show, The Kardashians, Kourtney admitted to her mother, Kris Jenner, that she and Travis were trying to get pregnant and that they were already starting their IVF journey.

She described it as “Horrible. The medication they’re giving me, it’s like putting me through menopause.” She also added: “Travis and I want to have a baby so my doctor referred us to IVF, but it wasn’t the most amazing experience.”

Before actually getting married, legally, Kourtney and Travis Barker decided to make it more romantic and got married in Las Vegas, which she dubbed a “practice run”.

She posted the photos to Instagram later, recounting: “Once upon a time, in a land far, far away (Las Vegas), at 2am, after an epic night, a queen and her handsome king ventured into the only chapel opened with an ‘Elvis’ and got married (without authorization). Practice leads to perfection”.

Finally, the King and Queen got married for real, in a ceremony where Kourtney made a very different appearance, in a stunning white mini dress. The accompanying captions, on both Instagram posts, are as “fairytale” as it gets: “till death do us part”.
