The notion of Kabbalistic angel names is known by the Hebrew term Shem HaMephorash, which means “explicit name” and refers to the name of God. According to Kabbalists, this name was found in chapter 14 of the Book of Exodus and is composed of 72 letters.

The number 72, not by chance, is recurrent in the sacred texts and this was the initial clue for the Kabbalists to analyze the aforementioned chapter of Exodus, where this number occurs in the very composition of the verses. This classification is an association that Kabbalah makes with the Sephirotic Tree, which has 10 parts called the Sephiroth, 9 of which are the spheres or fruits that carry the divine attributes, or the maximum potential of each of the vibrations of God.

Seraphim is considered the highest category of the angelic hierarchy. This means that seraphim are very close to God and are, therefore, beings that emanate the purest love and the most potent light.

They are concerned with generating and transmitting purification energies, which lead the proteges to spiritual enlightenment – that is, to a deep desire to improve in themselves all moral aspects and to do good to others.

The 8 seraphs are: Vehuiah, Jeliel, Sitael, Elemiah, Mahasiah, Lelahel, Achaiah and Cahethel, and their prince is Metatron, a seraph considered the greatest representative of God. This category inspires great spiritual clarity in its protégés and offers courage to carry out the most challenging purposes.
