If you feel bored all the time, you may be suffering from chronic stress and don’t know

Imagine that you are in a classroom and although the subject is your favorite, the teacher cannot get your attention. Or that at the end of the day you realize that everything you do makes you tired and bored at the same time. If you’re going through a situation like this, maybe you’re suffering from some kind of chronic stress and don’t know it. In fact, science has undertaken to discover, through a study, the reasons that can lead to this situation.

O awesome.club explains what this problem is and what you can do to overcome it.

Boredom: A Possible Cause of Chronic Stress

In general, people believe that boredom is just a passing emotional state that appears when we do something that is not very pleasant or exciting. However, although this feeling can appear at times and unexpectedly, boredom can be the cause of something deeper and when the body gives us these signals, it is important to pay attention.

Psychologist John D. Eastwood of the University of York in Canada explains that boredom is “an aversive state of wanting but not being able to participate in satisfying activity, which arises from failures in one of the brain’s attention networks.” He led an extensive study on the subject.

What this research showed

The Doctor. Eastwood and his team followed male and female students from schools in 26 states in the United States and noticed that young people are increasingly finding it difficult to carry out certain activities for a while with attention and interest. They also noticed that two out of three students said they always feel bored in class.

On the other hand, scientists have also noticed that especially women who have a high level of cortisol (one of the strongest indicators of stress) have more serious difficulties in memory tests. In these situations, not only is there an increase in this substance in the blood, but also in glucose and sugar, which can influence other functions of the body. In addition, boredom, in many cases, can be accompanied by great demotivation which, in turn, can lead to chronic stress.

How to prevent chronic stress

All these signs are just the first step of a disorder that can turn out to be much more serious. Therefore, to prevent a situation like this, it is necessary to do one thing at a time and try to be positive, even if sometimes this may not seem so simple to put into practice. In addition, it is essential that you practice relaxation techniques and rest your mind from everything that is making you anxious.
