The lifespan of a bra is mainly affected by whether it was chosen correctly or not. If you make a mistake regarding size, you are guaranteeing not only discomfort, but also pain sensations. And there are other tricks that also help you choose the most suitable piece.

Forget about the bulges protruding from the bottom. Only extremely slender women do not suffer from this problem. The bra will be unable to fulfill this function if it is not tightly fitted to the body. If the size is chosen correctly, but the extra parts cause any kind of inconvenience, you will have to choose another model with a wider outline. The larger the breasts, the wider the straps should be. Always try on three sizes close together, especially if you are buying from a brand that is new to you.

When trying on a bra, try taking off the straps and skipping. If the fit is correct, the cups will stay in place and continue to support your breasts. Another helpful test: Keep your back straight and shoulders down, and take a few deep breaths. If you feel more comfortable this way than hunched over, your breath flows freely, and the straps stay in place, buy the bra without any worries.

When you find the perfect bra, it’s important not to overdo it by wearing it every day. Otherwise, it will be useless in 2 or 3 months.

A correctly fitted bra should not be too tight. Under the contour, i.e. under the lower horizontal strip, you should be able to introduce two fingers. The cups of a well-chosen bra should gently encircle the breasts, leaving no gaps. If the outline starts to show clearly under any T-shirt, the T-shirt has reached the end of its useful life. Time to switch!

The lifespan of a well-chosen bra is proportional to the frequency of its use. Ideally, your closet should have at least 4 to 5 permanent-use bras. Thus, each of them will last at least one year.

Before washing, close all bra hooks to preserve its shape. It is recommended to wash underwear by hand or in a special “gentle wash” mode. These items must not be tumble dried or tumble dried. The use of bleach is not indicated if the bra has elastane in its composition. This will damage the fibers, and the fabric will quickly sag. If you still want to lighten the bra, you can use hydrogen peroxide, which will leave the lace an intense white.

Do not use fabric softener when washing your underwear. This type of product softens the fibers of the clothes too much. If you need to soften your underwear, you can add several drops of white vinegar to the water used for washing. This also helps to maintain the tones of the colored clothes. For the pieces to acquire a pleasant aroma, try adding a few drops of jasmine essential oil to the water while washing.

Pieces with lace do not need to be centrifuged, as they do not absorb water. Not to mention that centrifugation causes the fabric to give in and deform. After washing, just shake the bra a little. Do not dry underwear on heaters or in direct light. This will destroy the appearance of the part. The bra should be stored with the cups crossed, one inside the other. The main rule is not to bend the bowls inside out, avoiding deformations.
