7 Makeup hacks that make Asian women unrecognizable

Most likely you’ve seen a video on the Internet in which Asian women are completely transformed with just the use of makeup. For many of us Westerners, this may sound a bit bizarre, but for them, it’s natural and, as such, should be respected.

But do you know why they stick a sticker on their neck? Or why do their eyes look so big? And you know what they put on their nose to change their appearance?

We analyzed these and other situations and discovered some tricks used by Asian women that help them to get a completely new face without the help of surgical procedures. Let’s see some of them.

Promise Tamang, a world-renowned cosplay star, was not left out of this trend and decided to try some of these tricks on herself. What she does is impressive. The young woman recorded a video in which she shows in detail how to create this type of makeup. Let’s review some of these tricks so you can see how it is possible to be unrecognizable through makeup alone.

Brightening highlighter and skin tone altering products

In China, Japan and other Asian countries, women continue to struggle to lighten their skin, as was done for many centuries. They avoid going in the sun and use special creams that not only make the skin whiter, but make the natural tone appear lighter.

Currently, these types of cosmetics are sold in spray form, and can be applied to all visible parts of the body that do not contrast with the color of the face. With a very light tone, women look too different, and this is just the beginning of the transformation.

Tape to stretch the skin of the face

We found that it is possible to change the shape of the face in a few seconds, just put a special tape in the right places and hide it with a special foundation, or even with your hair. The makers of these ‘camouflage’ products say they’re made from a material that doesn’t cause allergies and lets the skin breathe.

Apparently, using this sticker is very easy, but still, it is important to practice a few times before using it on an important event, because often the tape is glued incorrectly and the face becomes V-shaped. Some people prefer to save money and use regular masking tape, but this is not a good idea.

Nose shaping wax

It is possible to slightly change the shape of the nose with the face contouring technique, but it seems that this is no longer enough. Asian women solved this problem with the help of makeup wax. The product is often used to create realistic scars and other effects, particularly for movies or Halloween costumes.

With a little skill, it is possible to mold a kind of prosthesis with the wax, and cover it with the help of makeup (so it is not too visible). The main thing is that the nose does not fall out at an inopportune moment.

Contact lenses that create a ‘big eyes’ effect

Stickers to create a double eyelid

It’s no secret that many Asian people have a feature called an epicanthus: a fold of skin on the upper eyelid (from the nose to the inner side of the eyebrow), covering the inner corner (medial corner) of the eye. Some people prefer to eliminate this feature with the help of plastic surgery. Others don’t think this is a defect, and it really isn’t.

Anyway, there is a very popular product for eyelid ‘separation’: a special adhesive that separates the skin, forming a fold. It sounds scary, but people who use this trick say it doesn’t cause any discomfort.

Mascara with elongated fibers

Women all over the world wear false eyelashes, but there are alternatives to them. For example, a mask with fiber stretching, very popular among Asian women. With it, it is possible to ‘create’ very long eyelashes. The more layers you put on, the longer the length. However, there is a problem: these eyelashes often end up looking like the legs of a spider. Surprisingly, this is exactly what is in fashion these days.

Filters and apps

But the matter does not end with cosmetics and beauty products. The final step of the transformation is the photo or video procedure, always using an editor. We tried some of these apps and were impressed with their possibilities, and at the same time we understood why some women look like a doll on social media. A heart-shaped face, a super small mouth, huge eyes and smooth skin are some of the goals achieved in just a few seconds.

Whether or not to use these cosmetics and applications is something personal. Some don’t hurt anyone, so it’s okay to use them. Some women are really artists in these respects. Perhaps the problem lies in excessive preoccupation with the image. What do you think about this matter? Share in the comments.
