One of the most beautiful theaters in Brazil is located in Manaus and has existed for 122 years, being older than similar theaters in Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo. All construction was planned by Europeans. Various materials, such as Carrara marble, Murano chandeliers, iron pieces and tiles, came from countries such as Italy, England and France.

The existing construction dates back to 1839. It was created in a fort existing since the first years of discovery, in 1534. It was the first lighthouse on the entire American continent. Still in operation, its current range is 70 km for white light, and 63 km for reddish light, according to the Army.

The lighthouse was the second erected in all of America. It has existed since the 17th century and the curious thing is that it is on the route of many Carnival blocks.

However, few people visit the fort where it is installed.

The site was declared by Unesco as a World Heritage Site, Cultural and Natural, by Unesco. It is one of the most significant historical complexes existing in Brazil.

The architectural complex located around the church of São Francisco de Assis in Ouro Preto and the Sanctuary of Bom Jesus de Matosinhos is considered one of the main works of Antônio Francisco Lisboa, better known as Aleijadinho.
