The celebrities in our selection today are more than used to the red carpet. But for everything there is a first time. Even the most seasoned personalities in the awards were once more shy and insecure, especially when they were starting out. Also, not all of them knew how to pose for photographers.

Kate Beckinsale (1999)
Kate played her first role in the film “Running against the Wind”, released in 1991. And in 2001, the actress took part in the film “Pearl Harbor”. That’s when she gained the most popularity.
Jake Gyllenhaal (1999)
Jake acted for the first time in the western film “Friends, Always Friends”, in 1991. Worldwide recognition, however, was achieved in 1999 after his participation in the film “October Sky”, in which he played his first major role — the teenager Homer Hickam.
Anne Hathaway (1999)
Anne’s star-studded career began on the television series “Get Real”, which aired in 1999. However, she was most famous for the movie “The Princess Diaries”, in which she played the lead role — Princess Mia.
Kate Blanchett (1999)
Cate’s career began in the theatre; after her performance in the play “Oleanna” in 1993, she was named best new theater actress of the year. Her television debut was in 1989, when Cate participated in an episode of the series “GP”. But worldwide fame came after the movie “Elizabeth” in 1998, in which Blanchett played the lead role.
Gwyneth Paltrow (1997)
Gwyneth’s film debut was in the film “Scream” in 1991, in which she appeared in only one episode. The actress won her first Oscar, for the film “Shakespeare in Love” in 1998.
Tom Cruise (1986)
The actor’s career began in 1981, with a small role in the movie “Endless Love”. His first major highlight was in the movie “Risky Business” (1983), when Tom became world famous.
Rachel Weisz (2003)
Rachel’s first works as an actress were in the films “Chain Reaction” and “Stolen Beauty”, both released in 1996. However, Weisz really gained fame after participating in the cinematographic classics “The Mummy” (1999) and “Constantine” ( 2005).
Shailene Woodley (2008)
The actress became famous for her role as Amy Jurgens in the TV series “The Secret Life of the American Teenager” (2008-2013), which subsequently earned her 5 Teen Choice Awards nominations. However, worldwide fame came after the actress played one of the main roles in the “Divergent” trilogy (2014, 2015, 2016).
Taylor Swift (2007)
The singer’s first single, “Tim McGraw”, was released in August 2006. And her album “Taylor Swift” (2006) made the singer gain greater popularity. In October 2007, she was voted best performer and author by Nasville International Songwriter Associationthus becoming the youngest female singer to receive the award.
Zac Efron (2005)
Although his career began earlier, in 2004, with the film Mission Special, it was in 2006 that Zac played one of the main roles in the film “High School Musical”, which gave him a lot of success. He later passed the audition to play Link Larkin in the film adaptation of the Broadway musical “Hairspray.” Efron gained immense popularity after that movie.
Victoria Beckham (1998)
In 1994, Victoria joined the all-female pop band the Spice Girls. And in 1996, her first hit “Wannabe”, was #1 on the UK Singles Chart (England), as well as in the US and 29 other countries.
Zoë Saldaña (2005)
Zoë got her first film role when she participated in the film “Under the Light of Fame” (2000), playing the talented ballerina Eva. Later, the actress appeared in the melodrama “Crossroads – Friends Forever” (2002), in which she acted alongside Britney Spears. And in 2003, Saldaña played the role of the pirate Anne-Marie in “Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl”.
Kristen Stewart (2005)
In 2002, Stuart starred in David Fincher’s Hollywood film Panic Room. The next work was in the children’s comedy “Nobody Holds These Children” (2004), in which the actress played her first big role. Kristen played a teenager passionate about climbing and mountains who decided to rob a bank to pay for her father’s surgery, who was very sick.
Ryan Gosling (2004)
Since 1995, the actor has played roles in such TV series as “The Horror Club”, “The Adventures of Shirley Holmes” and “Young Hercules”. The actor gained greater popularity after playing one of the main roles in the movie “Diary of a Passion”.
Meryl Streep (1979)
Meryl Streep made her film debut in 1977 in the film “Julia”. The actress won her first Oscar for her role as the wife of the protagonist in the drama “Kramer vs. Kramer”.
Leonardo DiCaprio (1989)
Leo’s film debut was in the horror film “Creatures 3”, in 1991. Later, in 1993, he acted alongside Johnny Depp in the drama “Gilbert Grape – A Dream’s Apprentice”. In that film, DiCaprio played Arnie, Gilbert’s mentally handicapped brother. The film was a huge success and DiCaprio was nominated for the Golden Globe Award and Oscar for the first time.
Salma Hayek (1995)
In 1989, Hayek played the lead role in the successful Mexican telenovela “Teresa”, thanks to which she gained the status of a national star. And in 1995, the film “The Ballad of the Gunslinger” gave the actress popularity in the United States, as well as opening her doors to Hollywood studios.
