16 Funny and Exciting Stories That Happened on Public Transport

Many people take public transport frequently. Routine trips seem to be quite monotonous, and most of the time, no one expects anything extraordinary from them. But there are times when a single person transforms a tedious journey into a more exciting route that will be remembered for a long time by other passengers.

we, from awesome.club, we love to read the stories of internet users who have gone through strange and funny situations on subways, buses and trams. That’s why we’ve put together the best stories for you to laugh too. Check out!

I was on a train, with a man sitting in front of me with his legs spread wide. Gradually, the train became full and there were not enough seats. Until a formidable lady walked in and told the guy: “Get over there, man. And you feel like that alone in your house”. © Ekaterina / AdMe.ruOnce I sat in a corner of the subway car and decided to knit a sock. The next season, a grandma sat across from me, took a scarf out of her bag, and started knitting. We look at each other and, without saying a word, we start knitting faster and faster. As Grandma was more experienced, it was difficult to pass her. But I haven’t competed in such an exciting way for a long time! As much as I tried to beat her, I couldn’t. She then solemnly descended to her stop, smiling and standing upright. The feeling is the same as when you play Mortal Kombat in a video game! Only in this case I lost to a granny. © Palata № 6 / VKI was on a tram late at night when I heard the driver and the conductor arguing about something. After that, she came back to charge passengers clearly in anger. At that moment, the driver said into the microphone: “Ludmila, forgive me! I love you so much!” I still remember the watery eyes of the conductor and the smiling passengers. © Hacker.Heracker / Pikabu
You know that kind of person who gets on the subway and sits with their legs wide apart, or else they stop holding the supports just to show they can balance? Well, once, one of these people lost his balance and crashed into the other passengers. © Yulia Troyanskaya / FacebookThe most bizarre thing I’ve ever seen on public transport is when, once, two strange men sat in front of me on the bus. One of them had a small, battered suitcase. Opening it, he spoke to the other:
“This is what we will do today. Let’s get off the bus and color everything.
As he spoke, he showed several coloring books in his suitcase, and added:
“You’re going to color inside the lines and I’m going to color outside them. At the end of the day, we will see the result.
Then he took from his jacket pocket two boxes of crayons and gave them to the other man, saying:
“This new box is yours. I just threw away the pink chalk. I don’t trust pink. © Dushka Zapata / Quora I was on the bus listening to music when a girl sat next to me and began to read a book intently. I started reading along, without her noticing. At one point, she read faster and was about to turn the page when I automatically grabbed her hand. At that moment she gave a smile, which I will never forget! We spent the rest of the way reading in silence. Then we got off at the same stop and went our separate ways. Only later did it sink in and I regretted not having met her. © Palata № 6 / VK
I got on the bus and saw an empty seat next to an elderly man. As soon as I sat down, the man looked at me, got up and walked away. He was sure he was up to date with his personal hygiene and so I wondered why he had left my side. At the next stop a young woman got on the bus and ran happily to sit down, but the old man interrupted her and said: “Stop! The seat is wet!” Just then I noticed a wet stain on his pants. Turns out he got up not because something was wrong with me, but just because the seat was wet. © John Ukah / QuoraI was on a tram. The conductor was a smiling young man and very friendly to all passengers. But one girl in particular caught her eye, and he chatted with her. Until the driver scolded him through the microphone, causing all the passengers to laugh. The young man then ran back to work, but soon returned to the girl. The third time this was repeated, the driver said in a loud and clear voice: “Colleague, do your job or cover a few more tickets for her”. © APXuK / Pikabu
I was in early pregnancy with almost no belly. As I was standing on the subway, an employee yelled at me to take the poor man’s seat, which she practically ripped off the seat. Even though I told her I would get off at the next stop, she insisted that I sit down. It was very intimidating. © CompanionCone / RedditVi on public transport a grandfather sat on a young girl’s lap, because apparently there were only free seats on the sunny side. © Tamara Kotovaya / FacebookThere were two men next to me on the bus. They wore old, baggy clothes and spoke quietly to each other in some dialect. At times, I understood that they were debating chess games. And from the conversation, I realized that they knew a lot more about the subject than I did. This situation made me think a lot. © Kurt Guntheroth / Quora
On the bus, I gave the money to the conductor and took the ticket from him. He looked at me scared, but I didn’t take him seriously. It wasn’t until the guy got off at the stop that I realized he was just a passenger. © Ulyanu_sh_ka / TwitterEvery weekday at 2 pm I go to the university by tram. I almost always find the same collector and the same passengers, most of them retired, who are already used to seeing each other. But yesterday, we reached a new level of communication: an elderly man approached the collector and asked for help solving his crossword puzzle. As I read the question aloud, the lady sitting next to me yelled out the answer. Then everyone got interested in the game and started to solve it collectively. © Palata № 6 / VKI was on the subway when a guy in a ghost-hunting costume got into the same car. Then I heard someone yelling: “I think I smell a ghost!” When we got to the next stop, six more teenagers got on the car and started singing the famous song from the movie Ghostbusters. © clearwind / Reddit
On the bus, I spoke quietly to a friend who had colic. Out of nowhere a woman in front of us started rummaging in her bag, took out a medicine and told us: “Girls, this medicine is great for colic. Write down the name to buy it later”. I felt like I was in a commercial, where people carry products and magically take them out of their pockets when someone needs them. One morning, I was going to work by tram, when suddenly there was silence. As it turned out, a huge, muscular guy had gotten on the tram, with only one eyebrow, half his hair and beard cut, wearing a flowered dress and rubber boots on one foot and sneakers on the other. Nobody wanted to face him, but I couldn’t resist and started laughing. He then looked at me with a smile and said, “I was partying last night with my friends, and today I woke up like this.” © Dan Hunter / Quora
