1. The Birth of a Genius
Stan Lee was born in Manhattan, New York, on December 28, 1922. From a Jewish family, his full name was Stanley Martin Lieber. He devoted his entire life to the fantastic stories of comics that were later taken to the cinema and turned into an even greater success.
2. The beginning of the career
His uncle, Robbie Solomon, was the one who introduced him to the world of comics, taking him to the Timely Comics, which would later turn to Marvel Comics, thanks to stan. His dream has always been to write a novel about American history. At just 18 he started working with Joe Simon, co-creator of captain America🇧🇷

The program superhumans premiered in 2010 on the channel History Channel. Produced as a documentary, its aim was to find people with different abilities and gifted minds. Participants had to dress up as superheroes and prove their worth in tests. The winner had the privilege of being a protagonist in one of Stan’s comics.
9. Stan Lee put his biography in a comic
Drawing on his passion and love for comics, he developed his autobiography in comic book form. the name was Amazing Fantastic Incredible: A Marvelous Memoir. His New York origins and skills as a writer and editor were the essence of the story.

It was a limited edition comic about the adventures of Spider-Man and The Incredible Hulk.
11. He hasn’t appeared in every Marvel movie
Stan’s appearances in Marvel movies were highly anticipated moments by audiences. But he didn’t appear in all of them either because of scheduling problems or because the movies were made by other production companies. Some films he has not appeared in are: X-Men 2, X-Men Origins: Wolverine, X-Men: First Class, Wolverine: Immortal, X-Men: Days of Future Past, Blade, Blade II and The Punisher.
12. The Incredible Hulk Was Originally Gray
The first Incredible Hulk that appeared was gray, but this detail was a problem in comic prints. Taking advantage of the power Stan had, he decided to change the color to green, as no other hero had that color.
13. Legal battle with Marvel
In 1998, Stan Lee signed a contract with Marvel that allowed him to earn a percentage of the collection of films and series in which there were characters created by him. The company didn’t honor the agreement, so Stan sued. He won the legal battle and received 10% of the films’ profits in addition to a €1 million annual reward.
14. The first published comic book
After working two weeks at Timely Comicshe got the opportunity to write a two-page comic called Captain America thwarts the Traitor’s revenge, published in 1941 under the pseudonym Stan Lee (the result of combining his first name, Stanley, and his last name, Lieber). In this story it is possible to see the hero for the first time with the shield.
15. Excelsior!
This expression is a Stan trademark and is related to the Marvel universe. She appears in several comics and came about because of the author’s desire not to be copied by the competition. The idea was to create a word that didn’t have a meaning and was complex to spell.
Inspiration is an old English expression: “Up and onwards, for the greater glory!” It was abbreviated as Excelsior on the coat of arms of the State of New York.
We are all very sorry for the loss of this genius of the comic book world. Its universe and its characters will never be forgotten, mainly because of their originality and because they have always been able to take us into a completely original fantasy world.
