Every Brazilian child has had a favorite treat, the kind that, nowadays, no one would understand. Whether due to the intense, weird flavors or even exclusive releases for the country, childhood in the 80’s and 90’s was not for amateurs! Although some have already left the shelves of markets and grocery stores, these foods remain in our memory.
O awesome.club decided to ask his collaborators which delicacies marked their childhood and adolescence. Check out!
15. Pacifier lollipops
Dafny: “I loved those pacifier lollipops. They were pure sugar!”
14. Fanta Apple
Magno: “I’ve always enjoyed trying out these ‘different’ things and, at the time, it was super new. We only saw guarana soda, cola, orange, grape, lemon… the usual ones. So the apple one, for me, became the sensation. I remember that it was on the market for a short time, it was a limited edition together with Fanta Citrus”.
13. Soft Bullet
Letícia: “I remember the Soft bullets, which my grandfather used to make me spit in his ashtray”.
12. Wow!
Renata: “The ice cream Wow! It wasn’t very tasty, but we wanted to get the gum at the end of the jar.”
11. Maria-Mole in Casquinha
Juliane: “I remember the ice cream fake who, in fact, was Maria-mole. The cone didn’t even taste like it and it came with a balloon glued to the top… I had my dad’s patience to buy it, but THERE HAD TO BE A BALLOON!”
10. Chocolate Ball
Dayse: “The soccer ball wasn’t the best of chocolates, it almost didn’t dissolve in the mouth, but that didn’t matter to me. It was only a joy when my father came back from work or from the grocery store and brought me this candy”.
9. Pelon Cabelon
Kamila: “I was in love with Pelon. It was a success at my school and only the coolest had it”.
8. Fura Bolo Ice Cream
Jerusa: “One thing I loved was the Fura Bolo ice cream, for being strawberry and having these fingers!”
7. Monica’s Gang Chocolate
Aline: “Every week my father bought one for me and I confess that I really miss that chocolate”.
6. Sweet Rice in Flakes
Douglas: “One candy that I never forgot (and never found again) was what we called here in Rio ‘rat poop’. 😅 I discovered today that it is called ‘sweet rice’, it always came in the bag of sweets traditionally distributed on Saint Cosimo and Damião’s Day”.
5. Chocolate Mania
Camilla: “Mania! I loved Chocolate Mania!”
4. Ice cream
Magno: “Icegurt was mandatory at school break time.”
3. Pastille
Camila: “I loved Pastille and pretended it was medicine”.
2. Cinnamon Candy
Camila: “I was/am in love with those cinnamon candies, you know? Round ones… I know they still exist, but I can’t find where I live”.
1. young lady
