11 amazing Netflix series you should watch

In 2018, the world’s most popular streaming platform, Netflix, released over 700 series. It looks like this year the company will beat its own record. Obviously, it’s impossible to keep track of all your projects, but we’re trying.

O awesome.club decided to pick a few good releases from the Netflix catalogue, but which received little attention. We hope you find something on this list that will keep you glued to the screen.

This new series, with Renée Zellweger in the lead role, tells the story of a young scientist, Lisa Donovan (Jane Levy), who seeks funding for medical research. She decides to ask a mysterious investor, Anne Montgomery (Renée Zellweger), for help. But Anne, who has a habit of manipulating people and trying to get along at every opportunity, ends up making Lisa’s situation worse.

If you want to see a light comedy, don’t miss “Grace and Frankie”.

Grace (Jane Fonda) and Frankie (Lily Tomlin) are inseparable friends who help each other in every moment of life. In fact, what brought these women together was an unusual situation: their husbands filed for divorce in order to marry each other. At that moment, the lives of the two friends fell apart, but they found the strength to start over.

“Dial Amiga Para Matar” is not just a story about grief treated with humor, it is also about true female friendship.

The plot follows Jen (Christina Applegate), a widow who cannot get over the death of her husband and wants to investigate it. She decides to join a support group, where she meets Judy (Linda Cardellini), an optimistic woman who has also lost her lover. Despite their differences, the women become friends, but each hides their own secrets.

If you like mystery, it is worth watching “O Eslhado”, another Brazilian original series.

This Netflix production tells the story of scientists working in the field of virology. They have just learned that in a small Brazilian village there is a threat of infection by a new mutation of the zika virus. Doctors go there to stop the disease from spreading, but from the first few minutes nothing goes as planned as the virus is much stronger than expected.

Three girls meet at a party, quickly form a special bond, and soon realize there’s one thing that unites them – a psychological disorder called kleptomania (an uncontrollable urge to shoplift). The friends try to understand who they want to be and try to deal with the desire to commit crimes all the time.

If you want to watch an unusual comedy, then the series “Good Girls” can be an excellent choice.

Beth (Christina Hendricks), Ruby (Retta) and Annie (Mae Whitman) are three mothers who live in Detroit. They can barely survive due to financial problems, so one day, they decide to plan a supermarket robbery. But instead of a real gun, they carry a toy one. And that’s just the beginning.

Tony (Ricky Gervais) sees his life fall apart after the death of his wife. Anyone who loves mystical stories will definitely enjoy this series.

College student Jack Morton (Jake Manley) discovers that there is a secret society at the university where he studies. He still discovers that his grandfather planned, a long time ago, for him to participate in this society of wizards who fight against werewolves. For Jack, it remains to go through the initiation rituals and discover many secrets.

This series is based on the 1908 book Anne of Green Gables by Lucy Maud Montgomery.

The main character of the story is the sweet girl Anne Shirley (Amibeth McNulty) who grew up in an orphanage. She didn’t know a mother’s love and didn’t have many childhood joys. But Anne, despite everything, is full of optimism and is able to see beauty in the simplest things in life. Anne is mistakenly sent to a family of farmers, brother and sister, now elderly, who wanted to adopt a boy. But with the arrival of Anne, the adoptive parents found it difficult to send back that ray of sunshine.
