10 Tips to eliminate all types of scars and help heal them

Fibrous or scar tissue is your body’s attempt to repair what has been damaged. It is a natural part of healing, which requires a lot of time and patience. However, there is something you can do to try to help with the healing process and improve the appearance of scar tissue.

O awesome.club found these 10 helpful tips for those who would rather forget about bike accidents, awkward shaving experiences, or painful surgeries, and would like to make those “reminders” disappear from their bodies.

10. Vaseline

According to studies, Vaseline is a reasonably effective and reliable remedy compared to expensive creams and serums. When applied 3 times a day for 1 to 3 weeks, this ointment helps keep the skin hydrated and makes scars appear less dry and rough.

This procedure is recommended for:

Atrophic scars, chickenpox and acne scars. Stretch marks

9. Pure Aloe Vera Gel

Aloe vera has been used for centuries for its amazing therapeutic properties. Its leaves contain a gel-like substance that promotes skin regeneration and has an anti-inflammatory and antiseptic effect on damaged skin. Apply the aloe gel (simply remove the gel from the leaf) directly to the scar, massaging in a circular motion. Let it act for 30 minutes and wash it off. Apply twice a day and try to be consistent in treatment.

This procedure is recommended for:

Cesarean section and other post-surgical scars.

8. Silicone Adhesives

If you suffer from hypertrophic scars and keloids, you can try using some special bandages, such as band-aids with silicone layers or self-drying silicone gel. Silicone remedies increase hydration and protect the healed skin from bacteria.
As a result, scar tissue appears smoother and softer. You can start using these silicone band-aids 2 weeks after the wound has healed (12 to 24 hours a day, for at least 2 months). Silicone gel should be applied twice a day until results are obtained.

Hypertrophic scars. Keloid scars.

7. Essential oils (sandalwood oil and lavender oil)

Essential oils in general promote collagen synthesis and have antiseptic, anti-inflammatory, astringent and healing properties. If used regularly, sandalwood and lavender oils in particular can aid in the healing and regeneration processes of the skin. Try massaging essential oils into your scar and notice how it will gradually become less noticeable.

This procedure is recommended for:

All kinds of scars.

6. Massages

Another great and cost-effective way to help your skin heal faster is to try massaging the area with a lotion. Gently massaging the scar for at least 15 to 30 seconds several times a day will help break up the dense bands of collagen that bind to the underlying tissue.

This procedure is recommended for:

Keloid scars. Cesareans and other surgical scars.

5. Sunscreen

If you want to help your scarred skin heal better, never expose it to harsh ultraviolet rays as this slows down the regeneration process and “helps” the cells produce pigmentation, causing lots of dark spots and discoloration. It is always recommended to use a sunscreen with an SPF (Sun Protection Factor) rating of 15 or more.

This procedure is recommended for:

All types of scars, especially acne scars.

4. Onion extract

3. Apple Cider Vinegar + Honey

Due to its antimicrobial and antioxidant properties, apple cider vinegar is widely used as a natural disinfectant and astringent. This will not completely eliminate old scars, but it will certainly help to reduce them, making them less noticeable. To prevent redness and inflammation, mix apple cider vinegar with raw honey, apply to scars and rinse after 10 minutes.

This procedure is indicated for:

2. Oils (olive oil and coconut oil)

Natural vegetable oils have a wide range of therapeutic effects. Coconut oil, for example, contains lauric, caprylic and capric acids, which help to heal damaged skin by stimulating collagen production. Olive oil is rich in vital vitamins that promote the healing process of acne scars, keeping your skin hydrated and nourished. Try gently massaging the scar with olive oil or coconut oil for 5 or 10 minutes several times a day until you get the desired result.

This procedure is recommended for:

1. Vitamin C

This may seem surprising, but contrary to what many of us believe, it is vitamin C and not vitamin E that helps to gradually improve the appearance of scars as it increases collagen synthesis and our skin needs this process. It also helps improve skin elasticity, reduce redness and promote wound healing. Doctors recommend internal use (drinks) and topical use (creams).

This procedure is recommended for:

Acne scars. Thin surgical scars.

Bonus:

The good news is that many scars fade over time. However, if you have any old, deep scars that won’t go away, it’s advisable to consult your doctor, as none can be removed completely without invasive procedures. Keep the wound or wound clean and moist by applying a moisturizing ointment. Always cover the wound or wound with an adhesive bandage. Avoid excessive exposure to the sun and always apply sunscreen. Do not use any treatment on an open wound or wound. Do not remove the layer created over your wound or wound, which is in the process of healing. Practice physical exercises. Keep the treatments indicated by your doctor or specialist and be patient.
