10 expected movies for 2020 that bring strong and powerful women as protagonists

The year has already kicked off with a slate of incredible movies set to premiere in the coming months. Films of all genres and styles, but the best have one thing in common: they have women as protagonists.

We cinephiles awesome.club, we’ve separated these titles and want to show you what we should expect for the big screen.

Deep Threat is a thriller and science fiction film. The main character is played by the North American actress Kristen Stewart, known for her role as Isabella Swan in the Twilight saga. The plot is about a group of researchers who find themselves in an underwater laboratory at a depth of 11,000 meters. Then, an earthquake destroys their vehicle and exposes the entire team to the risk of death. They are forced to move through the depths of the sea, with less oxygen than necessary, in order to try to survive. As if this difficulty were not enough, they also discover the presence of a mortal creature.

The second feature film Wonder Woman it’s coming, commanded once again by Israeli Gal Gadot in the role of Princess Diana Prince. The action-adventure film is the ninth in the DC cinematic universe and follows the standards of recent superhero films. In this feature, the heroine will come into conflict with two of her known enemies from the comics, Maxwell Lord and the Woman-Leopard.

The drama is based on a 2018 novel of the same name. The film features actress Amy Adams in the lead role of Dr. Anna Fox. Anna’s story is complicated. She lives alone at home. Separated from her family, she suffers from a phobia that keeps her reclusive. She then starts spying on her neighbors. When the Russells move into the house across the park, Anna becomes obsessed with that perfect family. But one night, as she watches with her camera, she sees something in the family that terrifies her.

O live action of the highly acclaimed 1998 animated film will finally arrive this year. The role of the warrior will be played by Chinese-American actress Liu Yifei. The film is an adaptation of the Chinese legend of Hua Mulan, which tells the story of a woman who disguises herself as a warrior (due to an impending war and to spare her own father) to join an army composed exclusively of men. Anyone who has watched the animation will see that some new items have been added to the film’s story, but we won’t give them away. spoilers here.

Little is known yet about the film, but in March 2019, actress Angelina Jolie joined the cast, which also includes names like Salma Hayek, Gemma Chan and Lauren Ridloff. The film is based on the comic book of the same name. The story is set at the beginning of the universe. The Eternals are an immortal alien race created by the Celestials, who are sent to Earth for the purpose of protecting humanity from their evil counterparts, the Deviants.

Announced as the last film in the X-Men saga, the bet for this feature is very different from the others. The reason? It’s a horror movie🇧🇷 It features Game of Thrones darling Maisie Williams as Rahne Sinclair, Wolfsbane. The story revolves around five young mutants who discover their abilities while being held in a secret facility against their wills; so they have to fight to save themselves.

The film is a direct sequel, as the name implies, to A Quiet Place. Actress Emily Blunt will reprise her role as Evelyn Abbott in this horror film. The official synopsis has not yet been released, but, recalling the first film, a family is pursued by a ghostly entity. To protect themselves, they must remain absolutely silent, as danger is activated by sound perception.

The film is the twenty-fourth of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the first (finally) featuring the heroine as the main character. Scarlett Johansson plays the lead role again, something that, at this point in the championship, is already in her blood – she has been playing the character for years. The film takes place after the events of Captain America: Civil War. Natasha Romanoff, known as Black Widow, finds herself alone and forced to deal with the ghosts of her past.

The most recent animation to be announced by Disney. Canadian actress Cassie Steele will be in charge of giving life to the main character, Raya. We haven’t had much information yet; just an announcement made by the company itself at the D23 expo 2019 event. The story takes place in the land of Kumandra, where dragons are revered for their wisdom and power. But it has been taken over by dark forces and the dragons are gone. So, Raya sets out to find the last dragon, hoping to save the world from darkness.

The film will be starred by the talented Margot Robbie in the skin of Harleen Quinzel, the well-known Harley Quinn. In addition to her, the feature has other names of weight, such as Jurnee Smollett-Bell, who will play the Black Canary, Mary Elizabeth Winstead as the Huntress and Rosie Perez as the detective Renee Montoya.

The story revolves around Gotham’s villains: Black Mask and Victor Zsasz, who begin to tear the city apart in search of a girl named Cass. The paths of Harley Quinn, Huntress, Black Canary and Renee Montoya meet and this quartet ends up having to unite to defeat the duo.

Heck, it’s going to be hard to control movie spending this year. But we’re sure it’ll be worth every penny, right?!
