10 Brazilian series that probably left you “glued” to the television

The comic production shows the daily life of the diarist Marinete (played by Cláudia Rodrigues) with her friends Solineuza (played by Dira Paes), Dalila (played by Cláudia Mello) and Ipanema (played by Helena Fernandes). The plot showed, above all, the very funny jobs that the professional had to face to earn her livelihood.

the serial Heavy load tells the story of truck drivers Pedro (played by Antônio Fagundes) and Bino (played by Stênio Garcia). The production realistically portrays the day to day of truck drivers, who face all kinds of problems and difficulties, such as constant insecurity on the roads. In addition, it addresses emotional, social and environmental issues, which are part of this much-suffered and beloved professional class.

The series is a continuation of the first version, shown between 1979 and 1981, also on Rede Globo. The second version was performed by the same actors and set 20 years later, in a new story, full of good performances and emotions.

The story even had four more episodes in 2013 and the film production Get Out of the Bottom: The Movie in 2019. We can also remember that the family had three maids throughout the original production: initially, Edileuza do Espírito Santo (played by Cláudia Jimenez); then, Neide Aparecida dos Santos (played by Márcia Cabrita) and, finally, Sirene (played by Cláudia Rodrigues).

With nearly 200 episodes, Sandy & Junior it told the daily life of a group of teenagers from the Centro Educacional Mário de Andrade (CEMA) school and became a success on television due to the talent of the brothers who give the production its name.

Condominium life is never easy, but it can become especially complicated when two families share, in addition to the entrance hall, a common past and many twists and turns. The story, in this case, showed the everyday problems of the neighborhood and portrayed residents that were beyond exotic, such as the manager, Dona Álvara (played by Stella Miranda), and her husband, Ladir Miranda (played by Ítalo Rossi).

One of the most interesting curiosities — and which few remember — is the change in the actress of the character Rita Moreira. Initially, in the pilot episode, she was played by Débora Bloch, however, as the star was busy with other jobs, Marisa Orth took over.

The production deals with four teenage sisters and all the problems that usually occur at this stage, such as passions, pregnancy and identity crises, among others. As a result, many viewers were able to feel represented in the characters.

Incidentally, the Brazilian series was so successful that it received an International Emmy nomination for best children’s program in 1995. In addition, in 2013 a film based on the series was released – with the same title.

Vanilce Alencar (played by Fernanda Torres) and Rui Muniz (played by Luiz Fernando Guimarães) could be any couple we know, like neighbors and friends, among others. In fact, the production made a point of conveying this sense of reality to allow the public to recognize themselves with the plot.

O Yellow Woodpecker Site was one of the greatest literary successes adapted to television and was also very successful, having hundreds of episodes. The plot tells the rural life of Narizinho (played by Caroline Molinari), Dona Benta (played by Suely Franco), Tia Anastácia (played by Dhu Moraes) and several folkloric characters from the production. The series even had several special appearances, such as Cássia Eller, Zeca Pagodinho, Malu Mader, Gilberto Gil and many others.

In addition to this aforementioned version, the series had already been successful on Brazilian television on other occasions. The first adaptation was made between 1952 and 1963 by TV Tupi São Paulo. The second, from 1967 to 1969, was on Rede Bandeirantes and then there was another production, from 1977 to 1986, on Rede Globo. Finally, the last cited version was from 2001 to 2007.

The production Castelo Ra-Tim-Bum it was a big bet by TV Cultura. By the way, a production that guaranteed immense success with the children and youth audience and had nine seasons. In this series, the viewer accompanies the magical world of Nino (played by Cássio Scapin) with his friends.

This success even guaranteed a feature film based on the history of the series: Castelo Rá-Tim-Bum: The Moviefrom 1999. And it also won an exhibition in 2014, due to the fact that the series completed 20 years.
