The Supreme God, upon seeing such a scene within the small forest, mercifully shouted that Ochosi had killed his wife and, in turn, his mother. Stunned by what happened and aware of the consequences that that act would bring him, he exclaimed “I have murdered my own mother, I am a disgrace.” Sobbing, the young Ochosi runs endlessly into the depths of the forest, in search of a possible shelter that would welcome him.

Of his mother’s pierced core, great and torrential currents of water arose, until they formed what would be known as the seas and rivers of the whole world. After almost a week of a non-stop marathon, Ochosi passed out exhausted on the shore of a beach. The Orisha of the seas, Yemayá, emerged from the depths to wake him up and advise him to look for her sister, queen of fresh waters, Oshún.

At that time, Oshun had a relationship with the Orisha Inle, who was a good mentor for Ochosi in the years he lived with them. At some point in history, Yemayá, knowing where Ochosi was, went in search of him to be able to lead him to where Olofin was.
