Lawyer says retired police officer was “subpoenaed” by former corporation colleague and reacted –

Retired civil police officer Ninrod Jois Santi Duarte Valente, 60, remains in prison suspected of killing former corporate colleague, José Augusto Mendes Paredes, 53 years old. This Monday (4), Valente’s lawyer, Claudio Dalledone, spoke with the RICtv and stated that the customer was taken by the victim to the beverage distributor where the crime took place and that it was “subpoenaed” by him. The murder was recorded in the early hours of Sunday (3).

According to Dalledone, Valente is sick, with cancer, and with mobility difficulties. He would have been “carried” by Paredes, who was a former civil police officer, and other men to the beverage distributor in the Batel neighborhood, where there was an argument.

“He is loaded, he cannot walk. And there in the bar where Guto used to go, he gets this picture, this subpoena. He was charged with circumstances that he reproached, that he disliked and did not support. Officer Valente was charged with something that will have repercussions even in other investigations that are still open. That these are very serious things, very serious, that with absolute certainty will shake some conclusions of some investigations that are open”,

said the lawyer.

Dalledone further stressed that Paredes was being investigated for other situations and was even arrested by the Federal Police, accused of robbery. The former civil police officer was exonerated from the corporation in 2021 and was responsible for traffic homicide, suspected of having run over, killed and fled without providing help in an accident recorded in 2006.

brave was cousin of Paredes, but despite the proximity, the men are not getting along. Their disagreement would have started after the death of a civilian policeman who was shot to death in a shed on BR-116.

After shooting at Paredes, Valente waited for the police to arrive, turned himself in and said that he acted because he believed that Paredes was armed. Valente has not yet been heard by the Civil Police and, as he was an agent of the corporation, he is being held in a separate cell at the Vehicle Theft and Robbery Police Station.
