Caboclos de Xangô: origin, lines, names, characteristics and more!

The caboclos of Xangô are entities that help the orixá in the fight for justice and against the oppression that people suffer. They are evolved souls who use their powers and skills, which they acquired in life and also in the afterlife to help.

Many think that they are just warriors, since the classification of caboclos is usually about indigenous warriors and strong personalities, but no. Except for their outstanding personalities, the caboclos of Xangô bring the most diverse characteristics.

Xangô is understood by them as a kind of father and they are loyal to the orixá, disseminating his mission in the world, which is peace and justice. Continue reading to find out more.

Contrary to popular belief, caboclos are much more than great warriors. They are healing and counseling mediums and help in the whole process of building faith. They are helpful and generally very direct and frank. Check out a little more about caboclos and how they align with Xangô!

In general, caboclos are entities that, in their earthly lives, were great indigenous warriors. Typically, they died defending their people and the people they loved. However, what is important to point out is that this is not the only characteristic that makes them so relevant within Umbanda.

Many were shamans and healers, which makes many caboclos, especially those of the Xangô lineage, very oriented towards healing and helping those in need. It is valid to say that most of the caboclos, almost all, appear on Brazilian soil, even if the religion has its roots in the African continent.

One thing that can be quite confusing when we talk about caboclos is the nomenclature, since the word, when referring to ethnicity, classifies a mixed person between an indigenous individual and someone with white skin, being Europeans in the early days of the nation.

However, within umbanda, caboclos are part of the indigenous people, they do not necessarily need to be mixed. It is the warrior people of the forest, being the primary characteristic of caboclos in religion. What both classifications have in common is indigenous ancestry.

Orixás are the biggest entities within umbanda. They have their space of government and, as far as possible, they live in harmony with each other. All have a strong personality that is very much in line with the space they coordinate. Usually, they are known for their power and even elements within Brazilian culture.

In turn, the caboclos are warrior entities, which can, as is the case of the orixá Xangô, help these great figures of the Afro-Brazilian pantheon. Xangô has his caboclos children and this makes his mission closer to humans.

A concept within umbanda that is not always well understood is the notion of left and right entities. Entities on the left are generally understood to be negative entities, as they operate in any capacity. However, this is not true, since within religion there is no such exact classification of what is right and wrong.

Each one chooses the karma they want to carry and people on the left don’t always work on the harm of others, but on demanding negative things that have already been done. However, the caboclos belong to the left, who work with cures and advice, which makes them more ‘well-regarded’ in terms of popular criteria.

Caboclos are characterized by symbols of indigenous origin, such as necklaces and headdresses, feathers and all the devices we normally know. Also, they are serious and always have advice to give. They are endowed with great wisdom, like the pretos Velhos, but they are more jovial.

They generally don’t like giving advice about love and things you don’t need. They are focused, very focused. If you want to know about that job vacancy, they can help you. If you’re having a dilemma about which direction to take in life, you can count on them.

The caboclos’ way of advising is very unique, as they do not rely much on their earthly experience to give their advice and lessons. Usually, they value for provoking the thought and self-criticism of each one.

Although they are extremely evolved spirits, they try to speak in a way that even seems “on an equal footing”. Prioritize being a human soul to touch another human soul. They make you realize what happens, they don’t give you the answers, but they teach you to ask the right questions.

Xangô caboclos are exquisitely fair. And understanding a little about them and how they work is essential to know exactly what to ask and expect from such evolved souls ready for the development of each human being.

They are loyal and value clarity. Check out more about Xangô caboclos and how they behave as spirits and in their embodiments!

Each caboclo has its individual and unique origin. That’s because, before becoming entities that help in the process of spiritual evolution of humanity, they were beings that needed that same evolution. Caboclos were human.

Normally, those aligned with the great Xangô in life went through an experience that made them strong and resilient, because this is very characteristic of this lineage. And all line managers are from Brazil.

Intuitive, Xangô caboclos usually already know what you need before you say it. But even so, they expect you to tell them. Often, the person does not understand what they feel or need, but they guide them until they finally understand how they can help.

In their incorporations, caboclos usually project the bodies of mediums to the ground. They speak quickly and succinctly and without mysteries. Their greatest expertise is jobs and personal achievements. What they can help, they will help.

First of all, to understand syncretism applied to Xangô, it is necessary to know what syncretism is, which is a term derived from Greek and French, used to explain the fusion between two religious notions. The same figure and its ‘equivalent’ in another spiritual doctrine.

Therefore, the figure of Xangô within the Catholic Church is understood as three different saints: São Jerônimo, Santa Bárbara and São Miguel Archangel. Of course, each one is in one aspect, but they are all part of Xangô’s religious construction within that doctrine.

Xangô is a well-known and sought-after orixá when we talk about the pantheon of orixás. He is known for his strength and invincible rage, which never misses its target. Normally, the figure of Xangô is present among people who exercise power over others, people with influence.

His children, those who worship him the most, are determined, daring and do not rest until they get what they want. Loyalty and justice are the greatest act of reverence for Xangô, because this is his legacy of proficiency.

There are several ways to worship Xangô, whether offering things that you like, as well as your points in spins, which can be understood as prayers. However, there is a prayer made to Xangô that is infallible. She obviously asks for justice. Check out!

“Lord my father, infinity is your great abode in space, your point and energy is in the stones of waterfalls.
With your justice you made a building worthy of a King.

My Father Xangô, you who are the defender of the justice of God and men, of the living and those beyond death, you, with your golden hatchet, defended me from injustices, covering me from ills, debts, evil persecutors. intentional.
Protect me my glorious Saint Jerome, Father Xangô in Umbanda.

Always righteous on the paths I come to pass with the strength of this prayer, I will always be with you, getting rid of despair and pain, from enemies and envious people, from bad characters and false friends.
Kaô Xangô, Kawó-Kabiesilé!”

Every work done for any orisha is done for a purpose. And, usually, they are very specific, being practically unclassifiable. However, there are a number of elements that please Xangô, such as, for example, brown flowers, stout beer and tobacco.

Xangô still has a favorite recipe, called Amalá de Xangô, which is very common in Candomblé. It’s an okra-based recipe. It is valid that all work done, for any orixá, must be done with the consent of Exu, who also asks for a job. So always do it with the help of those who understand.

Within umbanda, candomblé and kimbanda, entities are organized into a kind of caste. And the caboclos are part of this, however, their leaders are chosen from among them, called chiefs of lines.

Xangô has seven chiefs of lines, which are: Caboclo de Xangô Caô, Pedra Preta, Sete Cachoeiras, Sete Pedreiras, Pedra Branca, Sete Montanhas and caboclo Agodô. Check out now a little more about them and who they coordinate in each line!

First of all, it is important to understand that some orixás have connecting entities, which make the bridge between these two great celestial beings. And Caboclo Caô is one of these intersections, being one of the links between Xangô and Oxalá.

I hope he is nothing less than the greatest entity within umbanda, being understood as the creator. In addition, Caboclo Caô leads the line that brings Caboclo Peri, Caboclo Aymoré, Caboclo do Sol, Caboclo Girassol, Caboclo Sete Estrelas and Caboclo Urubatão.

Caboclo Pedra Preta is a line manager of the great Xangô, which has in its care team: Caboclo Pedra Grande, Cabocla Indaiá, Caboclo da Lua, Cabocla Lua Nova, Caboclo Três Luas and Caboclo Sete Luas. It is worth mentioning that, unlike the Exus, who are only men, the caboclo classification also falls on women.

This great phalanx chief is the connection between Xangô and the famous Yemanja, the Queen of Salty Waters and the seas and also with Oxum, who is the Queen of Sweet Waters and rivers. This explains the feminine energy circulating within this line.

Being the connection between the male orixás, Ibeji, which are, within religious syncretism, representations of São Cosmo and São Damião and the powerful Xangô, which brings a differentiated energy to this line, with caboclos who respond to the two orixás.

Within this phalanx are the following caboclos: Caboclo Cachoeira, Caboclo Cachoeirinha, Caboclo Cascata, Caboclo Apapori, Caboclinho da Montanha and Caboclo…
