How to use incense without being harmed?

Not everything is lost. You may light an incense from time to time without worrying, just take some precautions:

  • Look for 100% natural incense sticks, which do not contain petroleum-derived ingredients and buy brands regulated by ANVISA.
  • Avoid brands and scents that make a lot of smoke, which causes irritation and allergy.
  • Watch out for immunity. If you have the flu, live in a heavily polluted city, or are cold, avoid incense. Low immunity along with smoke can cause allergies and irritation.
  • Do not light incense sticks indoors and in small rooms. Look for an open place, near a window and where there is air circulation.
  • Do not light incense all day. Choose only the best moments and don’t get too close to the smoke.
  • If you are very allergic, avoid incense. Instead, opt for scented candles, which have a milder fragrance and don’t irritate as much.
