Isaiah is one of the greatest Prophets in the Bible, whose name means helper or help. He lived between 765 BC and 681 BC He lived at the time of the destruction of Samaria by Assyria and the resistance of Jerusalem, when it was surrounded by enemies. He exercised his ministry in the kingdom of Judah and married a prophetess wife, mother of two children. In chapter 6 of his book, he deals with the call to become a Prophet by having a vision of God accompanied by seraphim, seated on the throne of a temple. The son of the priest Hilkiah, also known as Helcias, lived five kilometers northeast of the Temple Mount in Jerusalem, in the city of Anathoth. He wrote two of the books in it, the Book of Jeremiah and the Book of Lamentations, which very clearly reflect the camp’s view of a world before the coming of the Messiah.

Daniel may also be known by the name Belteshazzar. The greatest prophets of the Bible counts on the presence of Daniel, as he had his prophecies included in the Book of Daniel. The meaning of his name refers to “He who is judged by God”, “God so judged” and “God is my judge”.

As a young man he was taken into Babylonian captivity to be educated according to the customs of the place, but he was never converted to them, following the divine precepts. By interpreting dreams and visions of kings with the enlightenment of divine wisdom, he gained fame in the Babylonian court.

The expression “Daniel in the lions’ den” refers to an episode in his book, when he was unjustly placed there and sentenced to death, but got freed by his apocalyptic prophecies about the future.

Throughout his book, visions and dreams give indications of what the end of the world will be like, a fact that increases his importance and fame even in his time, placing him as one of the greatest Prophets of the Bible in its Old Testament, when the coming of the Messiah was still mysterious even to those who followed the Prophets.
