Psalm 37: Trust, delight, surrender, rest and wait in the Lord – Blog

Because it is a long chapter, there are some key words that can help you understand this chapter of the Psalms better. Chapter 37 of the Psalms basically studies the confidenceO delighta deliveryO rest and, finally, waiting on the Lord. But let us better understand what this passage of the Bible implies, its interpretation, and the explanation of its words.

Psalm 37 of the Bible: meaning and explanation

Let’s start with the first word: trust. Many people say they trust God and believe that he has the best for us. However, few people manage to believe this in practice. Many turn to God for help, without even believing in his works. They resort out of desperation, but have no faith in their changes, which is useless.

The second word is delight. While trust in God is about knowing and believing in his deeds, delight is the pleasure, the spiritual satisfaction in having God in your heart and in putting his commandments into practice.

The third word is delivery. Surrender is very much related to the first word, trust, because if there is trust in Christ, the surrender of your life and your way to him is something natural.

Anyone who has the ability to surrender his life to God and trust what He has in store for his life is a fulfilled person.

The last two words, rest and wait, can be explained together as a consequence of the practice of the previous three words. When you trust God, delight and surrender your life to Him, spiritual rest and waiting in your actions are the next steps in this process, occurring in a very natural and peaceful way.
