Firefighters hit the corner of Mega da Virada, but are left without the prize in Paraná –

A Mega da Virada lottery is giving the talk within the Fire Department of Cascavel and Umuarama, in the west and northwest of Paraná. Military personnel from the two corporations got together to place the bet, hit the corner, but ended up not receiving the R$ 45,000 prize.

The prize was not delivered, as the person responsible for making the syndicate collected the money, but did not place the bet. He still only returned the money after the other firefighters went to collect the prize. The person responsible for the pool had to reveal that he did not go to the lottery and then hand over the money.

Investigation could end in expulsion from the corporation

The situation had such repercussions that the command of the Paraná Fire Department opened an administrative procedure to investigate the case, which could end in punishment or even expulsion. “The necessary documentation was received to open an investigative administrative procedure to determine the facts due to the involvement of the military”, informed the advisory through a note to our report.

Luciano Katarinhuk, Cascavel’s lawyer, explains that the situation can be considered embezzlement. “These amounts were diverted, for their own benefit, only being returned, according to information, after people asked. Where is our prize?”, he recalled.

According to Katarinhuk, the military can seek their rights. “They can sue civilly seeking compensation for the damage, including for moral damages for having lost the issue of this award, due to the irregular conduct of this companion”.
