Dream Revelation – Find out if you have this gift

The Holy Spirit gives different spiritual gifts to those who believe in him, one of them is the gift of dream revelation.

However, this gift is not for the exclusive use of the person who receives it. Indeed, the gift is given to one, but for the benefit of all.

What is the gift of revelation?

The gift of revelation is the supernatural ability that a person has to predict future events or those that occurred away from his presence and, therefore, he would not have known if it were not for the gift of revelation. This revelation can occur through a vision, feeling, voice, etc.

Another way to have a revelation is when a person can see an evil spirit oppressing someone and has the ability to identify what that spirit is.

Revelation can also come through voices from the spiritual realm, or the person can even hear the voice of God.

There are still those who have the gift of revelation in dreams, receiving warnings when they are sleeping and remembering every detail of the dream when they wake up.

The gift of revelation is built into many of the 9 gifts of the Holy Spiritthat are:

2. Word of Knowledge;
3. Gift of Faith;
4. Healing gifts;
5. Work of Miracles;
6. Prophecy;
7. Discernment of spirits;
8. Divers Languages;
9. Language interpretation.

How do I know if I have the gift of revelation?

There are some signs that indicate whether or not we have the gift of revelation. Below, we list a few:

• Having a growing desire to build an intimate relationship with God;
• Be curious and always seek to learn about prophecy;
• Praying prophetically, that is, you find yourself spontaneously praying something you hadn’t thought of;
• Praying for a person and getting their answer that the words you used were exactly what they needed to hear;
• People were helped by something you prophesied and shared with them;
• Dreaming or having a vision of something and that scene actually happens afterwards;
• Seeing things that others can’t see, sometimes you even think it’s your imagination;
• Feeling that your words have authority and what you say actually happens;
• Sometimes you are afraid to say something that you are sensing to someone because you are afraid of it happening – and then it actually happens;
• Having a lot of real dreams about things that are not part of your routine or your life;
• You don’t usually follow other people, you follow only God, and you see problems in the church you attend.
• Sometimes you are misunderstood;
• Strives to lead people away from sin.

How to know if the dream is a warning?

Dream revelation is very real, causing you to wake up angry, sad or scared. It is also common for the warning to be brought in a dream by a person we trust and will follow their advice. Usually, the message sent is very clear. The dream is still hammering in your head.

When we have one of these dreams, we need to stop and analyze what message God is trying to send us.

Sometimes it can be advice to get through the moment you are living or a warning about something that is coming and you need to be prepared.

It could also be that we are failing at something and God is trying to instruct us so that we can improve. Or he’s telling us we’re going the wrong way and need to change direction.

There are those who believe that nightmares are warnings from God, but this is not quite true. Not every nightmare is a warning. Sometimes it’s just our brain trying to process our worries and fears.

If you have been having nightmares frequently, pray to God before you go to sleep that He will guide you to a more peaceful dream.

We must not become dependent on our dreams. Having a premonitory dream is the exception, not the rule. Even those who have the gift of revelation in dreams do not receive messages every night, in every dream.

How do I know when God speaks to me through dreams?

One thing is certain: if you dream of revelation from God, the message will be very clear. You will have no doubts about what He wants you to know. Also, if God has spoken to you in a dream, you will wake up with a firm feeling of what you need to do.

Your dream contained a supernatural element

When God speaks to us in a dream there is a very clear sign that this dream comes from heaven, like something you normally wouldn’t know or a revelation about the future.

Just be careful not to manipulate your dream for yourself, making something look like a sign when it isn’t. Just remember your dream and analyze it.

Seems like the continuation of another conversation

God can reveal himself to us through dreams, but that’s not the only way he reveals himself. So, to know if God spoke to you in a dream, analyze if the dream message is related to a prayer you recently prayed or a conversation you had with God.

If God spoke to you in a dream, he probably answered your questions, doubts or anxieties.

The dream contained Divine Wisdom

To be sure if a dream came from God, you need to analyze whether that dream and the message contained in it was in accordance with the Gospel, it is something that Jesus would preach.

But of course if you are not a very spiritual person, you may not have the sensitivity or understanding of your dream. In this case, you may have the same dream several times.

If this is your situation, keep a record of your repeated dreams, even if they don’t seem important. Repeated dreams often leave lingering feelings in our hearts.

Also try not to ignore the feeling you have when you wake up. Analyze it.

If possible, every day, write your dream and the feeling you had in a journal as soon as you wake up, so that you don’t forget any details.

Then, analyze which phrases, people or images are repeated and could be an answer to some prayer you had or some conversation you had with God.

Also pay attention to the symbolism present in your dream. If an object or something is persistent in your dreams, look for its meaning.

This interpretation may be the answer to the message that God is sending you, but alone you are not able to unravel.

What can dreams reveal to us?

The revelation of dreams usually brings the answers to our prayers, doubts and questions. It is God revealing to you if you are on the right path, preparing you for a future event or even indicating your flaws so that you become a better person and evolve spiritually.

Prayer for revelation in dream

God gives you the opportunity to communicate with Him through Prayer. And in prayer you can ask for answers to your doubts, fears and anxieties.

Then say an Our Father and a Hail Mary. Repeat this sequence of prayers until you dream of some of the things described in the prayer.
