The special message that David gives us in the birthday psalm

In Psalm 103 what is noted is David’s desire for God’s approval and will in his life. With verses 15 – As for man, his days are like grass, like the flower of the field it blossoms; 16. When the wind passes over it, it is soon gone, and its place will no longer be known; and 17 – But the mercy of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting on those who fear him, and his righteousness to children’s children.

The prophet shows that the days of man, however blessed they may be, are fleeting and do not compare to the mercy of the Creator of the Universe towards us.

Psalm 103

1. Bless the LORD, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless his holy name.
2. Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget none of his benefits.
3. He is the one who forgives all your iniquities, who heals all your diseases.
4. Who redeems your life from perdition; who crowns you with kindness and mercy.
5. Who satisfies your mouth with good things, so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.
6. The Lord renders justice and judgment to all who are oppressed.
7. He made known his ways to Moses, and his doings to the children of Israel.
8. Merciful and merciful is the Lord; long-suffering and great in kindness.

10. He did not deal with us according to our sins, nor recompense us according to our iniquities.

21. Bless the Lord, all you armies, you ministers of his, who carry out his good pleasure.
22. Bless the Lord, all his works, in all the places of his dominion; Bless the Lord, O my soul.
