Due to the risks of infection in the genitals and anus already punctuated previously, professionals do not recommend tattooing these regions. Mainly the vulva and the lips, points out Thamires.

If you do, be careful. “After the procedure, I don’t recommend wearing tight clothing that generates friction”, says the tattoo artist, who reinforces the need to keep the region dry and hydrated.

“Always look for professionals who pay attention to biosecurity and make use of disposable materials, avoiding greater contamination. Choose a location that has a private room so you feel safe and less exposed. And always talk to your tattoo artist ahead of time, being honest about how you feel. There needs to be trust on both sides”, explains Thamires.

What care should I take after the procedure?

“If it’s a lower area on the body or very close to bacteria, you need to clean the area frequently with antibacterial soap and keep the tattoo dry. Nowadays there are products that form a protective film that can be changed, in addition to lasting until healing is complete. This helps a lot so that the tattoo is not exposed. The important thing for every tattoo to heal well is to keep it clean, dry and hydrated”, explains Thamires.

For the breast area, the recommendation to clean, dry and moisturize is the same. “Intimate tattoo is just like any other type of tattoo, take good care of cleaning and hydration. If your skin is clean and hydrated, everything is better, from application to good healing”, remembers the tattoo artist.

Can I have laser hair removal after getting an intimate tattoo?

It’s always good to remember that tattoos cannot be exposed to laser, and intimate tattooing is no exception. “When the tattoo comes into contact with the laser, the same tattoo removal effect occurs”, says Tatiana. Professionals recommend total laser hair removal of the region before the tattoo procedure or simple hair removal.

Is it possible to cover or remove the intimate tattoo?

Yes, it is possible to cover an intimate tattoo, but “the person needs to keep in mind that, in general, the coverage will be greater than the original tattoo”, warns Thamires. However, if you want to remove it completely, the best option is to resort to the laser removal procedure.
