Why do men love crazy women?

Balanced women forgive me, but crazy is fundamental.

We want women on the verge of a nervous breakdown. Women who sing loudly what they want and dance alone in the middle of the room, twirling in front of the dinner guests, right after asking them to leave because “the couple is now going to the bedroom”.

We want women who spit in our faces the concerns, the wants and the unwillingness, the usual madness, because a woman without madness is not a woman, it’s a trophy that you forget on the top of the shelf.

A woman has to be crazy. A woman who doesn’t go crazy, who doesn’t make her voice heard, who doesn’t tear up because the cake burned, or the makeup smeared, from these we prefer to look from afar, suspicious. There’s something very wrong there. Woman who doesn’t sob at the end of a soap opera? Mature woman, calm woman? No, not this one. People love is a drama.

If they don’t get serious, we don’t do well in love. That kind of sly woman tires us, and the perfect elegance of impeccable models bores us. We want a broken nail. Scared scream in the middle of the night. Hug with “take care-of-me” tears. We want to say “it was nothing” when they grate the car’s taillight on the pillar in the garage.

The crazier the woman, the more beautiful, the more passionate she becomes. A woman’s emotional fragility does not build a masculine pseudo-superiority. This fragility can be the fuel of tenderness, of affection.

We can even admire tough, balanced, constant women. But what leaves us bewildered, passionate stooges, authentic fools, is the crazy woman. Only the crazy woman is capable of making our life cat and shoe.

We like to love a woman intensely for being exactly what she is – passionately crazy.
