Why are we so passionate about football?

The person may change spouses, home or work, but the passion for football remains untouched. And passion cannot be explained, it happens. In Brazil it is almost mandatory, an impulse that leaves the body in a state of beatification, as it elevates the soul. It is the love of national strength, and love conquers all.

Passion is not eternal, least of all. It transforms over time into love, something more lasting and eternal. Anyone who sees a fan passionate about football knows that this makes their essence more complete, to obtain an immense feeling of fullness.

Some feel more alive with this inner passion, which is the flame of human life, the fire in the chest that makes anyone more confident. This fire leads us to enthusiasm, a word derived from entheos which means inner god. Therefore, when we align our life with a higher purpose, we open to the flow of wisdom in our psyche. If you want to be happy, stay as close as possible to the channel where your life flows.

The historian and professor of the literary theory department at Unicamp (Campinas) Leonardo Affonso de Miranda Pereira explains that football can be made official as the national passion and the reasons for this statement are four: it has always been popular (easy to practice), is related to fun (in the most popular associations it was common to mix football and carnival), it is the representation of our country, as the population identifies with the players (in 1938 the national feeling was consolidated around football), in addition to the conviction of that Brazil has the best football in the world.

Some sociologists say that to know a society, it is enough to know which is the most popular sport in the country. They nailed it, because we really are a passionate people where the fans forget about all their problems.

Our football is associated with creativity; a mixture of body and mental art whose purpose is to obtain fullness, happiness.
