Why are we always so dissatisfied?

I believe we can all agree on one thing: we seek happiness.

But it’s so hard to find her… Why does it have to be like this? Or rather, does it really have to be that way?

The difficulties of being happy appear because we look for happiness in the wrong things. We often think that the other is the one who will bring happiness to our lives, we think that it is in pleasurable acts (like eating, buying things, having sex, etc.); we think it lies in the fact that we own objects; we confine them to certain virtues, such as: honesty, honor.

However, we always forget to ask ourselves: what is happiness? What would be the best way to get it? I use here an ancient Greek philosopher – Aristotle – to define what happiness is. He says happiness, basically, is living well and doing things well.

How can you live well when you are so dissatisfied?

I believe that we seek happiness in a tortuous way, we don’t know what it really means to us. In this way, we are lost. Sometimes we look for it in one thing (like, for example, another person) or we look for it in something else (like, for example, in owning things or fulfilling ourselves professionally).

We always lose sight of it because things change all the time.

If we look for someone, the person can leave us; if we seek it in owning objects, well they will be destroyed by time. We cling to it, we fear it will go away.

But finding her can be so simple.

When you reach a ′′ middle ground ′′ for things, you’re less dissatisfied. We become sensible, lucid and malleable to life’s changes. We can’t get different results by always acting the same way, right?

We see happiness in the beauty of things; we find it in simple acts like walking, seeing the smile of someone we love, helping someone.

We have to transform happiness into something useful, something practical. The notion that she is unattainable cannot take hold of us.

I know that we go through very difficult moments in life, but if we act with Balance, they all pass and happiness is found, our dissatisfactions cease to exist.

We always want too much. We want this and that. Our desires confuse us, we think that the paths that can lead us to happiness are happiness itself.

We are wrong because when you feel happiness, it is enough by itself (as Aristotle said), there is no room for dissatisfaction.

It is formed by the good, by the beautiful, by virtues, by pleasure, by justice. Remember that the secret is the middle ground.

Here are the tips to rethink our fixed concepts about things!!!
