The characteristics of the Oxum line

There are seven Umbanda lines and each of them serves a different Orisha. One of them is Oxum, and those who follow him have characteristics of childlike serenity. Therefore, it is normal for its faithful to go around carrying teachings and purity that only children are capable of giving.

Legion of Oshun

For each of Umbanda’s lines, there is a boss. Each of them mediates with one of the other spiritual lines. That’s why there are the Exus of the Oxum line. In the legion of the spiritual vibration of Oxum, the seven leaders are: Tupãzinho, representative of the Spiritual Vibration; Ori, intermediary for Oxalá, Yariri, for Iemanjá; Yari, for Ogun; Damião, for Oxóssi; Doum for Xangô and Cosme for Abaluaê.

The entities of the Oshun line

The entities of this line are extremely evolved. They are externalized by their horses. They have childlike and lively voices, with a serene way. In terms of protectors, they usually sit on the floor to eat sweet things. Their melodies are happy and sometimes sad. They talk a lot about papa and mama in heaven, as well as sacred robes. The exus of the Oxum line are the ones that most represent the extreme purity of children and love. Therefore, they are the ones who bring the most “innocent” tone to this spiritual vibration.

Known as Exus-Mirins, the Exus of the Oxum line act on the left line of Umbanda. Not all of them present themselves in the form of a child, some being closer to the form of adolescents with their rebelliousness from the transitional phase to adulthood, in search of an identity, like us in this period of life.

Previously, it was common to see them being expelled from the terreiros due to sheer prejudice, but today the acceptance of their pranks is a way of finding a solution to various spiritual problems.

When incorporated, the Exus of the Oxum line usually expel what is negative in their medium. His antics are nothing more than a reflection of the bad characteristics of those who embodied him. Exposing such behaviors makes the medium think better about his behaviors, some that he didn’t even know how to nurture within himself.
