Wedding: 5 trends to keep an eye on in 2019

Are you getting married in 2019? We have listed some suggestions to inspire you in organizing a unique wedding:

1. Regional sweets

Every year the number of couples who exchange traditional sweets for options that match the couple’s history and that have some special meaning grows. In this context, regional sweets have never been so popular!

Among the many delicacies of Brazilian cuisine, one in particular has conquered space at weddings in the four corners of the country: the roll cake. Made with thin sponge cakes and equally thin layers of guava jam, the sweetie can serve as an inspiration for the cake or even as a substitute for the traditional bem-casado.

2. Protein bouquet

Another trend for this year’s weddings is the use of exotic flowers in the composition of the bouquet. One of the highlights is the protein🇧🇷 The flower is originally from South Africa and is usually found in shades ranging from pink to burgundy.

3. Golden dress

We already mentioned here that gold is on the radar as a strong trend for brides in 2019. According to the global report released by Pinterest, searches for golden wedding dresses increased by 1552%.

4. corsage

The accessory, usually worn on the wrist, is nothing more than a bracelet made of natural flowers. The accessory brings an extra touch of delicacy and romanticism to the look of the bridesmaids.

Working on the corsage chapter today, and wondering what others think about this part of floristry. I think all the writing in seclusion is making me a bit lonely- I’d love to hear a bit about your experience! Here are my thoughts on the matter so far: “As a self-appointed corsage ambassador, I feel compelled to share my love for the art of corsage making widely. Corsages have a huge public relations problem. Most florists I talk to are beyond weary of the tradition, and for good reason. They argue that corsages are dated looking, trite, or garish. Beyond the aesthetic issues, many just plain hate the drudgery of making them. People often recount their training in this work- they were taught to wire all of the botanical components, ( very often spray roses, stiff greenery and a filler flower ) and combine them with a mass of looped ribbon. This collection of materials was then typically strapped to an inexpensive elastic wristlet, or some sort of tacky sparkly rhinestone encrusted corsage bracelet. I was trained this way. I’ve made over a thousand corsages for others over the years, and knew when I opened my own studio, my offerings would be different. I strongly believe that an artist’s duty is to bring forth what he or she is craving to see. I wanted to see streamlined, sophisticated, simple, flower-forward corsages that feel representative of the moment. I wanted to combine my love of jewelry design and flowers by pairing interesting, unexpected botanicals with sleek jewelry bases, instead of stretchy elastic. In the coming pages, I will outline my preferred ways of making corsages. These techniques are chosen for their design ease, wearability, and contemporary feel. I hope they inspire new designers to fall in love with corsages, and jaded florists to try again.” Corsage shown made with: white and pink tuberose, kangaroo paw, delphinium, snowberry, lilac buds, and ranunculus. 5. Food Stations

Food stations are good alternatives for couples looking for a more dynamic and affectionate service. This is because the guests participate in the preparation of the dishes or help themselves to appetizers of their choice.

The bread and cheese stations are always a hit. Explore flavor combinations including cold cuts, dried fruit and wine.
