Pink color needles (Pink bows, in free translation) was a very successful Mexican telenovela. The plot had 600 chapters and was on the air from April 1994 to May 1995. At least three generations of actors participated in the recording, which featured a renowned cast, in addition to several young people and children. Twenty-six years after its debut on television, the curiosity remains to know how the actors are doing and what they are currently doing. Some continue to act in TV and film; others ventured into other areas, such as music. And part of the cast has moved away from the cameras to focus on personal projects.

O incredible.club researched a little more about the current lives of some of the actors who were part of this soap opera and put together a list of before and after each one of them.

1. Angelica Maria

Angélica María gave life to Elisa Morán, mother of Paola, the telenovela’s protagonist. When she participated in this production, the Mexican actress and singer already had a consolidated career. Angélica started working in theater as a young girl. In 2007, she already had 58 films and 20 soap operas under her belt and, currently, she continues to act in series, soap operas and films. One of her most recent appearances was in the Netflix Original Movie Fallen from Heaven, of 2019.

2. Natalia Esperon

Natalia Esperón played the telenovela’s protagonist, Paola Armendáres. Her debut as an actress was precisely in rose colored needles🇧🇷 After her success in the role, she continued working on TV and, in 2007, made her film debut with the film Espérame en otro mundo (Wait for me in another world, in free translation🇧🇷🇧🇷 Since 2013, she has been away from the screen, but uses social media to interact with her fans.

Alexis Ayala gave life to Julián Ledezma, one of the telenovela’s protagonists. Julián marries Paola at the end of the story. As for his artistic career, he continued to be active on the small screen until 2018 and has also taken part in films and theater plays.

4. José María Torre

José María Torre was another of the telenovela’s protagonists, in the role of Daniel Armendáres, Paola’s brother. His artistic career includes participation in more than 30 soap operas and five films. In 2012 he debuted as a producer on the feature Viento en contra (contrary wind, in free translation🇧🇷 In addition to being an actor and producer, he is also a fashion designer. Irán Castillo was Cecilia, Daniel’s girlfriend. The Mexican artist began her career doing commercials for television, then followed an acting career, participating in soap operas and standing out in some productions such as dreamers (1998-1999) and Class 406 (2002-2003). Music is another of her talents and she has recorded three solo albums: New Times (1997)🇧🇷 Tattooed on your kisses (1999) and Dawn (2014).

David Ostrosky played Victor Manuel. The Mexican actor remains active and accumulates a long list of appearances, especially in series and soap operas. He is currently part of the cast of the television series Vis a vis: El oasisbroadcast on the Fox Spain network.

8. Sergio Blass

The young rebel Cristian, villain of the second phase of the telenovela, was played by Sergio Blass. The actor, born in Florida, in the United States, already had a musical career before working on the soap opera. Sergio was one of the members of the group Menudo (1986-1991). In 2016, after participating in several rock groups, he created his own band, Blass🇧🇷

9. Nora Salinas

Nora Salinas played Jessica in the second phase of the telenovela. She continued her career as an actress, playing leads and villains. Recently, she announced that she is going to study law.

10. Sherlyn González

Sherlyn González played the girl Clarita and continued her career as an actress, playing different characters in series and soap operas. Fans practically watched her grow up on the small screen. One of her most successful works was in Class 406. She also did theater, participated in television programs and had passages through music.

11. Flavio Cesar

Flavio César played Martín Dávila, Paola’s boyfriend in the first phase of the telenovela. He continued in the artistic world as an actor and singer until, in 2006, he decided to step away from show business to dedicate himself to religious projects, including recording songs.

Marisol Mijares, who played Renata Zamora in the telenovela, has worked as an actress for over 20 years with prominent characters, such as in the telenovela Friends and Rivals, in 2001, and in several TV series🇧🇷 After deciding to dedicate herself to her family, she temporarily left the screen, choosing to work as a producer.

Alan Gutiérrez was one of the young villains in the first phase of the telenovela. His professional career includes work in film, television and theatre. Alan also studied audiovisual media, majoring in Documentary Video Production in 1999 and in cinema, at the New York Film Academy, in 2002, among other courses. He has experience as a director, screenwriter and editor, areas in which he currently works.

15. Leonardo Daniel

Leonardo Daniel played Miguel, the skating coach in the first phase of the telenovela. He has a long career in TV, film and theater. In addition, he was the director of soap operas such as Bajo las riendas del amor (Under the laces of love, in free translation🇧🇷 in 2007. In 2019, he gave life to Samuel, a character in the Mexican telenovela Doctors, lifeline (Doctors, lifeline)in free translation🇧🇷

Bonus: a reunion 23 years later

In 2017, three of the telenovela’s protagonists, Nora Salinas, Irán Castillo and Marisol Mijares, published a photograph of a reunion, making it clear that they still maintain the friendship formed during the telenovela’s recordings in the 90s.
