Unveiling the sixth commandment – Do not sin against chastity – Blog

This has got to be one of the 10 most controversial commandments as we are in an age of sexual freedom, women’s liberation and experimenting. But to understand it, we need to think within Catholic logic. For the church, man and woman were made with a purpose that must be respected, that of procreation. Not to sin against chastity it is the sixth commandment and includes everything from not having sex before marriage, not wearing provocative clothes, not masturbating, not coming into contact with pornography and prostitution, as well as rape.

Because of this stricter upbringing, many people who grew up Catholic are more closed off about sex and feel a lot of guilt for breaking this rule, even if they don’t practice the religion.

We are in the 21st century and there are few people who adhere to this rule with zeal. Sex is good, it’s good for the mind and body. The important thing is to respect yourself, just do what you feel comfortable with and not get carried away by the judgment of others. The body is yours and no one can tell you what to do with it. Only you can decide how far to go. Never forget that. It is also crucial to respect others, however they may think differently.

Literature explores the topic of sex in different ways, pleasing anyone who wants something more explicit, such as a discreet person, who enjoys what is left between the lines. See some examples.
