This is the correct way to heat up pizza (not in the microwave or oven)

Many people say that there is nothing better than cold pizza for breakfast. It’s okay, we’re not here to discuss anyone’s tastes.

However, we have to point out that a very warm pizza, fresh out of the oven, is something hard to resist, isn’t it? But how to eat a pizza like this, crispy and fresh, the other day?

You may have already seen some tips that suggest heating leftover pizza in the microwave along with a glass of water or reheating the pieces in the oven. The problem is that these techniques don’t always work very well: either the pizza is mushy or it ends up more toasted than it should be.

Apparently, Reddit users have discovered a new technique for reheating pizza the next day that promises to make the slices crispy and irresistible. Let’s meet?

Heating your pizza the right way

According to the cheat diagram posted on Reddit, you won’t need a microwave or oven, but a nonstick skillet and stovetop. The first step is to put the skillet to heat over medium to high heat.

Then, place the slice of stale pizza directly in the non-stick skillet, without adding oil or olive oil. Let the pizza heat up for about 2 minutes or until you notice that the bottom of the pizza is crispy.

At this point, it’s time to add two drops of water to the frying pan, but without letting the liquid touch your pizza so that it doesn’t lose its crunch. Lower the heat and cover the skillet, letting it heat up for another minute. This step of the trick is to help the cheese get soft again.

After the final minute, turn off the heat, open the skillet and that’s it! There’s a slice of pizza with the crispy crust, the soft edge and the melted cheese, almost brand new and ready for you to enjoy.

Tip origin

We know that many of the tricks floating around the internet don’t work very well in real life – anyone who’s ever ended up with an indecipherable mix of ingredients after trying to follow a Pinterest cupcake decorating tutorial knows very well what we’re talking about.

However, this time the tip seems to have a good origin, as the diagram with the step by step to reheat the pizza was taken from the menu of Roberta’s Pizzaria, a very popular establishment located in the New York neighborhood of Brooklyn.

New York is a city famous for its pizzas, so it’s worth a try, isn’t it? Tell us the result in the comments!
