It was 1998 when the first episode of the famous comedy series That 70’s Show was broadcast. In it, Ashton Kutcher debuted as an actor playing Kelso. And being part of the cast of the series that opened the doors of Hollywood to the heartthrob was also the young Mila Kunis, who 17 years later would become his wife. Although Mila started her career at the age of 9, it was that role that gave her great recognition as an actress.

Mila and Ashton practically grew up together backstage on That 70’s Show. And while their characters, Jackie and Kelso, have been a couple in a few seasons, for the actors, romance was just for the screen. When filming began, Mila was 14 years old, while Kutcher was 19. To him, Mila was like a little sister. The actor even said that he did the chemistry tasks of his co-worker.

“At first, I think she thought I was cute. Shortly after, I started bothering her, because I was like an older brother,” Ashton Kutcher recalled on one occasion.

To get the role of Jackie, Mila had to tell a “good” lie. She told casting directors that she would be 18, as she needed to be that age to participate in auditions. She just didn’t specify when she would turn 18. So it’s not surprising that her first kiss on screen, given when her character needed to kiss Kelso, was her first kiss in real life too. “I was like, ‘Wow, the Calvin Klein model is so beautiful!’” Kunis said. “And then I said, ‘Do I have to kiss him?’ I was very nervous and restless. He was my first platonic love.”

After the seventh season, Ashton did not renew his contract to invest in the film work, which allowed him to act in films such as Angels of Life – Brave Than the Sea. The decision interrupted his frequent acquaintance with Mila, but the two always kept in touch. “One was looking for the other to find out what was going on: “Hey, damn! How are you? It was obvious something was up,” Ashton said.

The two became inseparable from that moment, but still agreed not to start a serious relationship, reaching the agreement of just having fun together. Three months later, though, things weren’t so fun for Mila, as she was developing bigger feelings for Ashton. When she decided to share what she had been feeling with him, Kutcher suggested that the two move in together, starting an official relationship.

The two began to get together with the idea that they would never marry. But in 2014, the world was stunned to see Mila sporting a stunning engagement ring. The actress stated, “I think everyone was surprised. When I said, ‘Yes, I do,’ I think even he and I were taken by surprise.”

In October of that same year, the couple welcomed their first child, Wyatt Isabelle. And finally, 17 years after they met, they got married in a beautiful ceremony held in 2015. A year later, Dimitri was born, the actors’ second child.
