When traveling through Brazil, we are faced with a huge variety of foods and typical dishes that we cannot say, for sure, if our cuisine has limits. The funniest thing is to discover that the same dish that is eaten in the northeast, for example, also exists in the southeast, but with different names and beyond fun. Kid’s foot, wooden ear, mother-in-law’s eye… hominy or polenta? Cassava, maniva, cassava or cassava? Well, it will depend on which region you live, but for sure the flavor will be the same.
O awesome.club prepared a list of the funniest names of regional dishes in the country. In addition, we list some foods whose names may vary depending on the region. Chances are you’ve already eaten one of these items below and didn’t know what they called it elsewhere. Check them out and learn how to prepare them:
1. Mother-in-law’s eye
Many say that this sweet was created because future mothers-in-law had the task of watching over their daughter. That is, future boyfriends or fiancés could never be alone (they would always be under the eyes of their mothers-in-law). A tasty message, isn’t it? Click here and learn how to do it.
