Sharpened Intuition in 10 Steps: From Meditation to Breathing đź”®

Since childhood we have our keen intuition. But, as time goes by, the weight of reality overwhelms and smothers our natural talent.

We live in a constant rush, overloaded with activities and information coming from all sides. Therefore, it is natural for intuition to be in the background and associated with grandparents.

Do men also have intuition? Sure! But our sexist culture does not allow full development, after all, intuition is a “woman thing”. In fact, intuition is something for people who think and connect with their inner selves and are sensitive to external stimuli.

If we all have this talent, why do some have more keen intuition than others? Simple, some use it and exercise more than others.

10 steps to sharpen your intuition

1- Pay attention to your dreams

As we’ve said before, the busy world doesn’t leave much room for intuition to surface. But even so, we are bombarded all day by signals sent from the universe, we just don’t understand.

These signals are absorbed and usually manifest in dreams. So pay attention to your dreams. As soon as you wake up, write down all the details and then reflect on what happened. What message did this dream want to convey?

2- Let yourself be carried away by creativity

Were you inspired by the dream? Write a text, draw a picture or paint something. Let intuition speak through your body. Not just dreams, but anything that inspires you and leaves you with the “flea behind your ear”.

Look at this activity as a way to calm your mind and allow your intuition to sharpen and manifest more often. Over time, this task will seem more and more natural and yield good analysis.

3- Do breathing exercises

Breathing is natural and automatic, what you don’t know are the benefits of conscious breathing. It is a concentration exercise in which you notice all the nuances of breathing and this makes you more sensitive to stimuli. Therefore, intuition becomes much sharper.

Sit in a quiet and comfortable place. There are people who prefer to sit in the lotus position, I prefer the Savasana position (lying on the back with the palms facing up).

Inhale to the count of 5, so that the air “fills” your belly and not your chest. Hold the air for three seconds and release it for 7 seconds. It’s difficult at first, but then it gets much easier.

As you breathe, pay attention to the air, the temperature, the smells, the energy of the universe moving in and out of you. Do this for 5 minutes and feel the renewed energies.

4- Break the routine

Grab a piece of paper and write down what you’ve done in the last 5 days. How many activities are repeating? Were they performed in the same way?

Routine is a poison for those who want to have their intuition sharpened. You have to experience different situations and things to feed your repertoire and strengthen your spirit.

Start sleeping in another position on the bed or move furniture around. You can also change the way you always go to one place, sit in a different seat on the bus, or eat something you’ve never had.

When the routine is broken, your intuition is sharper, alert. Try it and tell me in the comments.

5- Restore energies in nature

Going back to the origins, without electronics, without or with little technology is a blessing for your body and soul. Thus, your brain shuts down from so much information and becomes more susceptible to stimuli that we ignore.

In this way, it can stimulate the intuition we needed when, as a species, we lived outdoors and relied on it alone to keep us safe from the elements, predators, and other real fears and dangers.

Exercise: Choose a comfortable place, preferably in the shade, lie down and place your palms in contact with the ground. Imagine that Mother Earth wants to give you a message. What does she want to tell you?

Write down everything that comes to mind and let time show whether something makes sense or not.

6- More feeling, less thinking

Our problem is that we always want to rationalize everything. The shiver was the wind, the strange sensation is that food that didn’t go down well and so on…

How about letting go of those thoughts and giving way to sensations? Write everything your heart tells you and after a few hours, read it. See if you have any information that your intuition left there on paper.

7- Take a paper, a pencil and… just write!

Ever heard of free association writing? You take a paper, a pencil and write whatever comes to mind. It doesn’t have to fit, look nice or make sense, okay? Just write.

When I do this exercise to release the energies, I usually take a blank sheet of paper and write in any way and sometimes even a drawing comes up.

A few days later I take this sheet and see what stands out the most. Then I know it’s my intuition sending a message. Then I burn that leaf.

8- Study!

Go to the powerful and ubiquitous Google and type “book on intuition”. A not very large list will appear. Try to read some of them, read related materials and, above all, talk to people who practice on a daily basis.

Your intuition will be sharper every time you tap into more information.

9- Eat better and with conscience

Would you swim in a polluted river? Would you step barefoot on the floor of a crowded emergency room? Why would your intuition and energies flow into a body full of ultra processed?

Rethink your food and eat with awareness. Body, mind and spirit thank you.

10 – Feel people before you meet them

When someone introduces you to a person, pay attention to what you felt first. Was it disgust or distrust? Was it security or reception? Keep these thoughts to yourself.

When you establish a real relationship, remember about your impressions. Were they right? I do this all the time and I rarely get it wrong.
