Restaurant anticipates Christmas weather to scare away heavy air from the pandemic

Christmas decoration in July? Inspired by the pandemic and mainly by the hope for better days, a popular Japanese food restaurant in Curitiba bet on the idea of anticipating the Christmas atmosphere. Since last weekend, Z. Sushi, at Batel, has had its three salons richly decorated for Christmas. The setting was presented during dinner for guests last Friday (30).

The restaurant, by Grupo Vino!, had just opened on Rua Teixeira Coelho, when the new coronavirus surprised the world, as explained by businessman Raphael Zanette, founder of the group. “After a year and a half of great struggle, at this moment, in which the situation indicates the prospect of a better future, we had the idea of holding an early celebration that would rescue the atmosphere of hope and renewal that we experienced at the end of the year” , he says, about Christmas out of season.

Inspired by Christmas decorations in New York, the setting features many lights, garlands, colorful ornaments and other props, which transformed the halls of the house into a Christmas setting worthy of movies. The project was carried out by the agency We Are Oui.

The cold weather in Curitiba was another source of inspiration for the idea. “The low temperatures this winter and the desire to celebrate the good things to come reinforced this intention to recreate the experience and feeling of the Christmas season”, adds Zanette. The novelty, according to him, does not mean a relaxation in preventive measures to the pandemic. “We will continue with all precautions, such as reducing public capacity, distancing between tables and making gel alcohol available for as long as the health authorities indicate”, he says.

Z. Sushi’s gastronomy mixes the tradition of Japanese food with touches of contemporary creativity. Sushi and sashimi featuring special seafood blend with elaborate hot dishes. The atmosphere is also a mix: restaurant and sushi bar with a cozy counter.
