Hydration with honey: simple homemade recipe to treat dry hair

Those who like to take care of their hair at home are always looking for new ingredients that can enhance the effects of industrialized masks.

If you are looking for a homemade recipe to fix dry hair, the tip is to go to the kitchen first and get some honey to add to your hydration mask.

Honey is an ingredient rich in vitamins C and the B complex, in addition to containing minerals such as iron, magnesium, potassium, zinc and calcium.

However, honey can be quite difficult to apply directly to the hair. So, one way to use it is by adding this ingredient to industrialized masks to increase its power, giving an even better effect on the hair. Preferably, use organic honey, found in natural product stores.

Other uses of honey in hair

In addition to being an ingredient for moisturizing and moisturizing the hair, honey has other beneficial properties for the hair.

According to research published by the European Journal of Medical Research in 2001, honey may have preventive and therapeutic effects on seborrheic dermatitis and dandruff.

In the study, patients used a solution of honey diluted in warm water on the lesions, rubbing them for 2 to 3 minutes and rinsing 3 hours later every other day. This treatment was followed for four weeks and then was given once a week for six months.

In the first week, patients felt relief from the itching caused by dermatitis and dandruff. The skin lesions had fully healed by the second week, and patients still reported a decrease in hair loss.

Fortunately, none of the patients who followed the treatment for six months had these symptoms again. However, patients who did not continue to apply honey to the scalp returned to experience itching, lesions and hair loss within 2 to 4 months.

The researchers’ conclusion was that honey really is a beneficial ingredient for hair, capable of relieving unpleasant symptoms such as dandruff and seborrheic dermatitis. It’s worth using.
